In this thread, just create a simple overview of what will happen over the course of the next two or more films. I am going to sum up the main elements of The Amazing Spider-Man that are being used to set up the sequel. 1. In TASM, we were given the origin to Spider-Man. His parents left him as a kid for an unknown reason, and died in a plane crash. His father worked with Dr. Connors to create a formula to regenerate lost limbs (and he also bred the Spiders in that room from Oscorp that Peter sneaks into), but it also turns out that they were trying to find a cure for a dying Norman Osborn. Whether or not the whole "Ang Lee" origin is true or not, it was taken out of the movie, and I assume that it will be ignored from now on. "It never happened." 2. Dr. Ratha also must have a bigger role in all of this, but for now he is just an employee of Norman Osborn that is trying to make sure the cure is given to him before it is too late. Whatever the cure ends up being, it is probably what turns Norman into the Green Goblin. 3. Peter Parker saved the spider that bit him in a test tube, so its possible he will bring the spider back to investigate or do experiments on to find out how it gave him powers without killing him or turning him into a giant Spider. Heck, perhaps they will go that route and have Peter morph into a giant Spider like in the comic books? I doubt it though. 4. Peter and Gwen's relationship has been developed, and I think the way the movie ended may lead into a love triangle between Spider-Man, Gwen Stacey, and Mary Jane. 5. Captain Stacey's last lines foreshadowed the death of Gwen Stacey. 6. While it still isn't confirmed, the man in the shadows is most likely Norman Osborn. In the comic books, Norman always appeared as a mysterious man "in the shadows" that wore a trench coat and hat, which is what we saw in this movie. He asks Connors if he told the boy "the truth about his father?" which means there is a lot more to the disappearance of Peter's parents. Maybe they are still alive? Did they fake their deaths? Were they working on something even bigger that we don't know about? Using this information, what do you think the next two films will cover in this new Spider-Man universe?
