A brief piece of news as Bloody Disgusting has learned that Platinum Dunes is producing the remake of Monster Squad for Paramount Pictures. In Fred Dekker's 1987 original Count Dracula adjourns to Earth, accompanied by Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Gillman. The uglies are in search of a powerful amulet that will grant them power to rule the world. Our heroes - the Monster Squad are the only ones daring to stand in their way. Platinum Dunes' A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot arriving in theaters April 30th.

I know this is really gonna piss off alot of people. I read the title and just said to myself "Oh, s**t! People are gonna have a major fit over this"

Whether this be true or not who knows. First I'm hearing of this. Last I heard Rob Cohen was gonna remake this.

Some movies don't need to be remade, this is one of them

Everything needs to be remade, don't you know that?:yay:

I'm looking forward to the paranormal Activity remake later this year.:oldrazz:

They should just hire Fred Dekker to make it. Look at all there past movies, The Hitcher was pretty much shot for shot and Nightmare looks to be the same expect no gender switch like Hitcher.

What do you mean gender switch for Nightmare? Freddy always went after Nancy nothing new there.

is this what Platinum Dunes is all about? just remakes? have they ever done something else different?

They are also branching out aswell.

They signed a deal with Paramount to make so many movies. They are also making a film based on some comic. It's suppose to be an action movie. And they have another film coming out called the Butchers Chronicles.

Which makes it even worse. They don't hire or bring in the best talent.
But it had Gary Oldman! From BB and TDK!

Plus their moves aren't really for everyone. Or should I say of a certain age. It was clearly something marketed towards teens, young people.

You mean my age group...
I don't know how old you are. Different people different stuff.

The general movie fan who's not really a movie buff doesn't care what they watch as they think it will be entertaining. Not sitting there going over little detail of the movie. Because it doesn't have deep characters acrs or anything else people usually complain about when watching a movie.

*breaks away from bolts without ease, steps onto floor*

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

:(

if the remake doesn't have a remake of "rock until you drop"
in it i will be pissed :cmad:

i'm pretty sure it was Michael Sembello
i thought it was a great song for the montage scene :)

One of my favorite childhood films and it's kind of sad to see it go down like this. I think the original will always have better moments but might seem corny by todays standards .

Monster Squad was a fave as a kid....no need to remake it.
