Good Hours -Robert Frost

I had for my winter evening walk—
No one at all with whom to talk,
But I had the cottages in a row
Up to their shining eyes in snow.

And I thought I had the folk within:
I had the sound of a violin;
I had a glimpse through curtain laces
Of youthful forms and youthful faces.

I had such company outward bound.
I went till there were no cottages found.
I turned and repented, but coming back
I saw no window but that was black.

Over the snow my creaking feet
Disturbed the slumbering village street
Like profanation, by your leave,
At ten o'clock of a winter eve.

The Tyger- William Blake

Tyger, Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp,
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger, Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

The Poison Tree- William Blake

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I waterd it in fears,
Night & morning with my tears:
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night.
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine.

And into my garden stole.
When the night had veild the pole;
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretchd beneath the tree.

Like the old Hardy Boys move?

Batman TAS was such an awesome cartoon, that it taught me "The Tyger" when I was around 6.

Here's my favorite poem:

There once was a man from Nantucket
Whose d1ck was so long he could suck it
And he said with a grin
As he wiped off his chin
If my ear were a cooch I would fcck it!

That's my favorite. Well, that, and the Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Coleridge.

This one always brings me peace of mind:

Daffodils

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

~ William Wordsworth

Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne'er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.

Not one of all the purple Host
Who took the Flag today
Can tell the definition
So clear of Victory

As he defeated—dying—
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Break agonized and clear!

If I can stop one Heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one Life the Aching
Or cool one Pain

Or help one fainting Robin
Unto his Nest again,
I shall not live in Vain.

Because I could not stop for Death—
He kindly stopped for me—
The Carriage held but just Ourselves—
And Immortality.

We slowly drove—He knew no haste
And I had put away
My labor and my leisure too,
For His Civility—

We passed the School, where Children strove
At Recess—in the Ring—
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain—
We passed the Setting Sun—

Or rather—He passed Us—
The Dews drew quivering and chill—
For only Gossamer, my Gown—
My Tippet—only Tulle—

We paused before a House that seemed
A Swelling of the Ground—
The Roof was scarcely visible—
The Cornice—in the Ground—

Since then—‘tis Centuries—and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses' Heads
Were toward Eternity—

-Emily Dickinson

This speech is my recital, I think it's very vital
To rock a rhyme, that's right on time
It's Tricky is the title, here we go...

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...it's Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)
It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...Tr-tr-tr-tricky (Tricky) Trrrrrrrrrrricky

I met this little girlie, her hair was kinda curly
Went to her house and bust her out, I had to leave real early
These girls are really sleazy, all they just say is please me
Or spend some time and rock a rhyme, I said "It's not that easy"

In New York the people talk and try to make us rhyme
They really (hawk) but we just (walk) because we have no time
And in the city it's a pity cause we just can't hide
Tinted windows don't mean nothin', they know who's inside

When I wake up people take up mostly all of my time
I'm not singin', phone keep ringin' cause I make up a rhyme
I'm not braggin', people naggin' cause they think I'm a star
Always tearin' what I'm wearin', I think they're goin' too far
A girl named Carol follows Daryll every gig we play
Then D dissed her and dismissed her, now she's jockin' Jay
I ain't lyin', girls be cryin' cause I'm on TV
They even bother my poor father cos he's down with me

We are not thugs, we don't use drugs
But you assume on your own
They offer coke and lots of dope
But we just leave it alone
It's like that y'all (y'all), but we don't quit
You keep on (rock!) shock! Cause this is it...

Life is a joke and all things show it.
I thought so once and now I know it.

Can't remember who created this ditty.

Yeah, you better run!

you're such an a$$hole and
you're such a jerk,
my opinion of you
couldn't get any worse,
and you know I'd like to see you
I hate everything about you
I hate everything you do
I hate the way you talk and
the dumb things you say too, and
I'd like to see you dead,
cause you make me sick to my stomach
and you make me want to puke,
and it would be my dream come true
if somethin really bad would happen to you
You're such an idiot
And you're such a creep
And I really don't care
what you think about me
And you know, I'd like to see you
I hate you from the start
And I hate you to the end
And I hate your mom and dad
And I hate your stupid friends
I'd like to see you dead,
cause you make me sick to my stomach
and you make me want to puke,
And you know when you're finally gone
I'm gonna dance on your grave and spit on it too
And you know, I'd like to see you dead

Kingfisher Road Alight

Kingfisher Road,
Just off Noel,
Take it long enough,
They've dressed it up with trees and flags and flowers,
But it's hell,

Mom and dad are still together,
By the dock,
The dog is free and happy,
My uncle can still walk,

A wistful nightmare,
My aunt is laughing while she wipes my little cousin down with a cloth,
But the house is still burning,
Just have to knock,

I light a bonfire,
In the best lobe of my brain,
Have you heard about it,
Buddy,
The one that stops the pain?

The stairs to the basement are still steep as ever,
Sweet smell of bleech,
Filling up my mind,
Ain't going nowhere,

Old crucifix,
Still on the wall,
Old tattered, couloured rug,
Still graying in the hall,

The trees behind the sleep camp,
The spot where we buried that old jar,
The lake isn't even moving,
It's all just a mental scar,

Kingfisher Road is burning,

I light a bonfire in the worst lobe of my brain,
Have you heard about it?
The one that stops the pain

It was only a matter of time.

yeah, what, is "ass-cap" Herr Logan just the last line of your poem?
or you're taking a bow for having good taste?

This is a real poem I wrote at work a few years ago. ***work-related content***

Why touch the stainless ?
And why touch the glass ?
When you COULD touch the wood
And you COULD touch the brass
Jerk.
