Point and Laugh...or Weep for the Future

I'll weep. This is something you'd only see here in America. Sad.

I'll point and laugh. I'm not the one who ate too much.

if someone can post the pic itself, it would be appreciated....I'm not savvy on the whole image host non hotlinking policy we have now

I hate it when my workplace blocks certain image hosting sites. :cmad:

If I saw that going down the street where I live, I think I'd mostly be speechless, holding a hand to my mouth in shock.

That must be one heavily-reinforced electric wheelchair.

I can only imagine what the motor must sound like

I'm guessing it sounds like a tractor because it would need that much of an engine to power it.

But seriously, seeing people that morbidly obese makes me sad. I mean how can that possibly be healthy for them? I just wonder how people get that way in the first place? Do they have a metabolic rate slower than a sloth and eat way too much high fat content foods like fast food?

Plus, I'll bet you anything they're collecting government disability checks.

Crap....I'm no light weight myself but I just can't fathom my weight preventing me from living a normal life. There are other, potentially more dangerous things I can think of right now.

I'll point and laugh, and if it's the future I'll laugh even harder

I gotta say, I am really tired of these people getting disability benefits just because they can't put down the fork. I saw a special on obesity the other day where these people are defending their large bodies and saying they are happy and shouldn't be judged... This coming from a lady that needed two chairs to sit down. They need to stop helping these people all together. If you get penalized instead of awarded for being fat you would see a whole lot more people at the gym. "Sorry, Sir. You exceed the weight limit for public transportation, plus all these people in here don't feel like waiting for the handicapped ramp to engage into position while you slowly wheel yourself onto the bus and then have to wait for me to strap you in and wait for the ramp to slide back into place. We all voted, you should eat less chimichangas."

These people don't deserve our contempt. I don't think it's normal for someone to be that heavy however it's wrong to assume that they are getting disability or that they are like this because "they can't put down a fork".

There are so many factors that would lead someone into this state. One doesn't just get up one day and say "I think I'm going to make myself be fat". There are various physiological and psychological factors that contribute to people's obesity. That's something that has to be addressed, but morbidly obese people shouldn't be vilified.

psychological my butt (oops), you can defend them all you want but you never see these people at the gym.. lack of physical movement and exercise are definite factors to their weight. They don't decide that in only one day. It is years and years of over eating, laziness, and blame. I don't know how many fat chicks I have heard say, "I think it's my thyroid." PFFFT please. This picture is a perfect representation of America's fat butt (oops). Blaming their past, how they were raised, medical conditions, blah blah... EXCUSES.

Nor should they be treated with kid gloves. When someone has spent years guzzling pop like it's water and consumed mass quantities of junk food and avoid any form of exercise, it's their fault. Not a damn thyroid, genetics, psychological makeup, or whatever reason one thinks to avoid ANY personal responsibility. They made their bodies that way, so they shouldn't be surprised at any criticism.

I think diet is only a small fraction of the issue. Yes, we should be stressing healthier snack alternatives like an apple instead of a bag of chips. But truthfully I eat enough to starve a bird sometimes yet I'm not a Size 0. I think the main issue is metabolic rate. Some people can just burn fat and build muscle more efficiently than others. Genetics and biology are harder things to rearrange than your diet.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!

YOU FILTHY CAPITALIST PIGS ARE DOOMED!!!

Very very sad....

No, it's about 40 years worth of getting up every day and saying, "I don't care that I'm fat." I don't believe there's any medical condition that can make a person fat that can't be overcome by the desire and effort to not be fat. When I see images like this I think, "this is someone who quit trying a long time ago."
