Police lure deadbeat parents with fake football tickets and arrest them on live TV

Well, he proves his case in court. But I agree. This was a little too extreme for just not paying child support. I mean, I know it's against the law, but just go get him. Why humiliate him like that? That doesn't make sense. The worst part is where they drag him to the ground for being tense. Give him a ****ing minute to calm himself. Jesus.

I think they need to do it privately to each individual. This is so wrong.

You're right. I didn't even notice that part properly first time. The officers do say "take him to the ground" before that happens. So much for "relax"

Catching them--great
Making a spectacle--not great. Its no one's business but the parents in question and the slaw.

It's funny cause it isn't me. :)

Reminds me of that one Simpsons episode where they told everyone they won a boat but got arrested because of too many parking tickets.

That episode was funny. Homer thought he was still gonna get the boat.:awesome:

I think dead beats should be forced to wear clown suits with *****s on their heads.

I'm all for it. Being the stepfather of a girl who's "dad" is a total deadbeat, who does nothing, I'd love to see him get this. To those who say humiliating them in public is wrong, think of how humiliating it is to have a parent who doesn't give two s***s about you.

I have to say that's kind of pathetic. If they have these people's information to send them a letter to lure them here, then they should have the information to go to the people's homes and arrest them there. In private. This is embarrassing. And I'm not talking about the embarrassment that the criminals feel, I'm talking embarrassing that the authorities would stoop this low. Especially taking the one guy down when he wasn't resisting.

One guy said " Do I still get my ticket? " Lol , that was my favorite deadbeat.

I'm nothing less than amazed at many of the reactions here.....I find people here at this board who want kids banned at restaurants because they might infringe on their aura but yet this is too harsh a reaction to parents who financially abandon their children? Really? Too harsh?....my head's exploding!

....not harsh enough folks!!...not even close!!

All I have to add to this, is:

Well, do I still get mah tickets?! :awesome:

I guess it all depends if you've had to deal with ******* father figures in your life. I haven't, so I don't really relate.

Not sure what I think about this....I'm all for catching criminals, but I don't like publicly humiliating people on live television, especially when the suspect hasn't been given opportunity to prove his case. I don't think reporters should have been involved.

why not? They are morons who refuse to pay for their kids

Eh, If they were paying the child support, they would'nt be in this predicament in the first place. Do the crime, pay the time. :o

I guess there weren't any women that got busted for not paying their child support.....? Edit I withdraw my comment. i just saw the video, and saw the lady getting arrested. Nice that they made it equal opportunity.

I'm all for catching them, but not convicting them in court of public opinion....police can make mistakes. Their job isn't to create theater.
