Police say Robert Wagner is now a 'Person of Interest' in the death of Natalie Wood

US police investigating the mysterious death of film star Natalie Wood say her husband Robert Wagner is now a person of interest.

Investigators in Los Angeles say Wagner has "constantly changed his story", adding that his version of events does not "add up".

Wood was found drowned in 1981 during a boat trip off California with her husband and actor Christopher Walken.

I don't see how they can prove it, the evidence must be really old by now. He said/she said by itself won't be enough to get a conviction.

It seems like something pops up with this every few years and nothing comes of it. Does a story changing over several decades ever really mean anything?

Just for example? I will listen to people tell a story, and it's the same story get told over and over again. And it's basically the same story but additions get made it gets changed and variations or they add in new comments. They editorialize their own story more. Is that really all that uncommon?

Think about it. Wagner is 87, according to the article. By the time it went to court and all that he'd likely be dead anyhow.

Wagner waited 2hours before calling a search team. The guy most likely killed her in the cabin and then threw her body into the ocean.

I've seen a couple of true crime shows where yeah, he was acting fishy. It's just a shame that the investigation never got got off to a good start early enough to really do anything.
