POLL - Best Film of the 21st Century - Year 6 - 2005

I'm going to show Werner Herzog some love this round.

Although I haven't seen all the films on the list I'll go with The Proposition.

i really hate to with the tide here... but batman begins

its the most entertaining..
King Kong being equally as good imo.

By no means the best movie of 2005, but i simply had to cast my vote for Revenge of the Sith. the buildup to that movie simply consumed by young geek life, and the memories around it are just too good to vote for something else.

Agreed, same here. Love them or hate them, some of my fondest and most memorable movie going experiences are SW related :woot:

Other notable mentions for me: Batman Begins (that i love even more than TDK), Brokeback Mountain, Walk the Line, Munich, Memoirs of a Geisha.

Very tough year to pick just one though :yay:

to those who know me... duh... to those who don't... I picked Grizzl..... I mean Batman Begins... ;)

Batman Begins for sho. One of my favorite movies ever.

So far the results for each year look pretty typical for a comic book forums, amirite?

Batman Begins. A pretty weak year overall sees the first of three Nolan flicks that I considered the best of the year this past decade. If anything, due to the success of the Dark Knight, Batman Begins is underrated now. It is still my second favourite comic book film ever and nearly as good as its more popular sequel.

Kong by a significant margin, closest to it is The Descent.

Always found Batman Begins to be good, but overblown.

Ok I cant take these polls serious anymore.

Alot of good films came out that year. The Star Wars hype was incredible and Batman Begins saved Batman . I know one of those will win but I decided to give a vote to
Walk the Line because it's one of my favorite films .

Batman Begins is going to win this, there is no question about it.

However, I think the best film of that year was Serenity. That film is one of the better recent Sci-Fi films to come out in a long time. The actors did great, the visuals were awesome, the villain was one of the more interesting villains in recent films to me, and it had higher concepts being addressed while not slamming them in your face. It had the right mix of plot/action.

I highly recommend it

Deciding between Grizzly Man and Batman Begins is incredibly hard, but in the end I had to vote Batman Begins. Both films are among my favourite movies, and both directed by 2 of my favourite directors.

Good Night and Good Luck is the best 2005 movie I've seen. Brokeback Mountain, Capote, and Sin City are pretty close, though. Batman Begins, Thank You For Smoking, and The 40 Year Old Virgin aren't far behind either.

I voted for Serenity. Very tough with all of the terrific movies that came out that year, but I was utterly suprised by Serenity. A buddy and I went to see it at the midnight showing on a whim. Neither of us had seen or even heard of a show called Firefly. We both walked out amazed and talked about what we thought was the best science fiction film in years, for the entire hour long ride home. To this day it is among my favorite films.

This.

Brokeback Mountain for me, a genuine film classic.

The rest of the top five would be made up of Batman Begins, Sin City, Walk The Line and RotS.
