Sorry I needed to do it.
Simple question. I know official stuff is vague but with set pics, videos and all we have seen. W-h-a-t do you think so far? Make it count in the poll above :)

I'll choose the fence for now.

I'm warming up to it. Just need to see it in its proper context (official trailer/still/clip). These latest set photos have done more good than harm, at least.

On my fence right now. I love his mannerisms, they are near perfection for me. But his looks does't sit well with me right now.

I love what I've seen so far. The tattoos don't bother me that much, and I really like the false teeth. Leto's body language and gesticulation seem spot on, and, in spite of the relatively minor cosmetic changes, I think he might be the most (or second most) visually accurate live action representation of the character yet. That's exciting.

He doesn't look like nu metal front man anymore. He looks like he was a latin drug dealer before falling into a vat of chemicals.

Jared Leto...malvado El Guason! :joker:

:djs:

On the fence so far. But I'm not hating it for sure. I'm fine with the looks, but I didn't see much performance yet, so I'll hold my opinion for now.

I don't love it, but don't hate it either. Will wait for some official material to reach a verdict.

I'm on the fence too, leaning more on the side of loving it. I definetly won't let some of the things I don't like about his look drive me to such wild conclusions about the character being ruined and all that whatnot like some. I am excited for Leto. And I feel like if it was anybody else but Leto in the role, I might not be too amped. I know he and whatever Ayer is up to can make me love the look later on. I am not looking to be disappointed by the Joker in this movie. The set videos and photos have only made me more excited for him.

Looks alone? Hate it. I'm not worried about his performance though.

I voted on the fence because I don't quite love the look, but I'm leaning more towards liking it than disliking it for now. In regards to the videos we've seen and the overall vibe I get from his performance, I love it.

I very much dislike it so far. The tattoos, neon hair, grill, etc are all blech. I just find it distasteful and trashy. He seems more like a psychotic Rockstar rather than the clown prince of crime.

But that's just my personal preference. I'm sure the overall performance and presentation will be very interesting and well done. Best case scenario, he'll be like a car crash you can't look away from. He's far from what I like, but he is piquing my morbid curiosity.

I'm getting an Azzarello Joker personally wise and Azzarello Riddler looks wise (Well if what was used for Riddler was used for Joker) vibe from him and I didn't like that graphic novel. So I'm on the fence because I still believe in Leto and in the end that's all that should matter.

Option 3. Don't like it so far. The tattoos and the grills have spoiled it for me.

Not enough to go on regarding his performance, acting wise. Just a few hand gestures and some movement. I've never been too worried about his ability to act the role, there are only a couple people I would have chosen for the Joker over Leto (My #1 choice, Daniel Day Lewis, would never even consider doing a CBM unfortunately). The voice Leto was teasing at his concerts would be phenomenal for the Joker, if that is his Joker voice it's basically perfect. Then it just boils down to how well the character is written, as good as Ledger was, I still think the biggest reason why I enjoyed his performance is because of how excellent the dialogue was. Hopefully we'll get a similar quality of dialogue for this Joker. If it is, I think Leto will give a very good performance.

As for how he looks... Sigh... I don't think I could hate it more. The only thing I like about it is his eyes. The blackened paint looks good and makes his eyes menacing. The tattoo's, the grill, the lack of eyebrows, the bright neon green hair, the clothes, the jewelry all look terrible to me. You could remove the tattoo's completely and I still wouldn't like it. I actually kind of like the idea of The Joker having some tattoo's (not on his face though) but the tattoo's they chose are just stupid. He looks like the lead singer of a Goth band, dressed in one of Leto's Red Carpet suits from his personal collection. I guess this is the down side of Ledger being so great, that they try to make the next version so different to distance themselves from his performance that they over do it and fail miserably. I can't believe that Ayer and the costume designers actually sat down, went over designs and picked this as the best one. I'm glad we'll probably never get to see the ones they discarded if this is the best they could come up with. It's awful.

It's disappointing because no one wants to see the Joker more than me. Over the last few years there were tons of people saying that it was "too soon" to do the Joker again because of Ledger's performance and I was the first person to call BS. They could have the Joker appear in every Batman related movie from now until the end of time and I would never get sick of the Joker character. To me he is by far the best villain of All-Time, there is no villain like him or as exciting as him. But this is definitely, by far, the worst visual character design for the Joker I've ever seen.

The first reveal: Very on the fence, but loved that he had perma-white skin and green hair.

Set pics/videos: Sold.

I was always happy with Leto being Joker though.

Horrible design, can't speak for the characterization of course.

Absolutely hate the look, however I still think we will get a very solid performance from Leto

Don't like it, but think it's funny.

im good with it. charismatic, crazy, punk rocker with a penchance for pain. perfect psycho to me.

On the fence. I like Leto as an actor, and his mannerisms from the set video.

Hopefully I warm up to the tattoos, which are unique to this portrayal.

It's not what I would have done, but I see what they are going for and I am down for the mix of fantasy and grit that the DCCU seems to be going for.

Loving it. :drl: And we still have a lot more to see from him.

I agree. The grills and tattoos were completely unexpected. But I'll go along with it for the time being. My love of the character will likely outweigh any aesthetic criticisms.
