I know this is the "tv series" anime section, but there isn't one for movies. Anyways, I need to see this!

Ponyo (崖の上のポニョ, Gake no Ue no Ponyo, lit. "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea") is a 2008 Japanese animated film by Studio Ghibli, written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is Miyazaki's tenth film for Ghibli. The plot centers on a juvenile fish named Ponyo who wants to become a human girl. In pursuing her goal, she befriends a five-year-old human boy, Sōsuke.

The film has won several awards, including the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year. It was released in Japan on July 19, 2008 and will be released in theaters in the US and Canada on August 14, 2009.

I might see this in the theater, but not sure. Usually I go for Miyazaki's more mature stuff, but of course it's all really good.

I watched in Japan last summer, and it was awesome! I'm glad they've released it in America, so I can go watch it again. In English. LOL. I think it's definitely blows Spirited Away out of the water!

They've been distributing Miyazaki's for quite a few years now

Nope, I didn't get to see it. I was planning to, but none of the theaters near me got it. So, I'll have to wait until the DVD release. I've enjoyed most of his previous works, though, and heard a lot of good things about this one
