I think Bammers could be looked of both ways, although I can't argue the Boss Man comparison. Yoko had a magnificently memorable career for such a short run.

I remember when Bam Bam came back into the WWF in 1993, I thought he was gonna be WWF's Vader to Bret's Sting and they did have that great match in the KOTR final, but Yoko took the spot as WWF answer to Vader.

:D

You couid make that argument. However, Sid is the poster child for getting pushed just because of size. That makes me dislike him more than Miz. He's a WWF and WCW Champion......wow.

I don't think Sid was pushed based purely based on size, he had this aura about him and he looked like he'd been carved out of granite as well as looking genuinely insane when he went into a rage. I admit as a kid he scared me lol.

I watched ROH: 11th Anniversary Show tonight, it was ok, I'd say the best matches were reDRagon vs The Briscoes and Adam Cole vs Matt Taven, not a lot else stood out.

The ending was hilarious, after Steen beat Lethal the multiple jobber run-ins was just amazing, You had Jimmy Rave who no one seemed to recognize (I didn't either), Rhett Titus (Who?) going heel and then this guy runs in throwing powder and Kevin Kelly yells "That's Cliff Compton!".......Again, who? The ROH faithful didn't seem to know either.

I also watched some Divas matches from 2007, damn Mickie and Melina had some good matches together. Also there was the short run of Candice, it was a shame about her injuries as she put so much effort into becoming a decent worker.

Whos's Rhett Titus? WHO'S RHETT TITUS?!

You need to check those thighs that mesmerize, son, because he's got shoulders like boulders!

Billy Graham should sue!

Suddenly I feel like I'm watching 80s wrestling, with authentic 80s commentary.

Ring of Honor wrestler B.J. Whitmer was taken to the hospital on a stretcher, after receiving a piledriver on the ring apron from Michael Bennett. According to several live reports, ROH officials immediately cut the match short, cameras stopped rolling and he was stretchered from the building.

This was most definitely not part of a storyline or an attempt to "work" the live crowd, as several ROH talents came down to the ring to help, and everyone looked genuinely concerned. Ring of Honor updated the situation moments ago, and it appears that initial reports are positive.

ROH Wrestling @ringofhonor
@BJ_WHITMER UPDATE -- BJ is currently undergoing tests at the moment, but does have feeling and movement in his arms and legs. We'll update with more information as we receive it.

I'm glad old Blow Job is ok, he's took some stupid bumps in his time, I guess it comes from being trained by Ian Rotten.

Agreed. As down on TNA as I am right now, It's best for everyone that they stay in business. I think the roster sucks right now though.

Yeah, TNA is extremely flawed, to put it mildly, but WWE has its issues as well, despite their current hot streak. There is no perfect organization, and it kind of bugs me when people say that they wish TNA would die. I don't want them to go away...I want them to get better! (Same for Ring Of Honor or anyone else)

Sometimes I think it's just a generational thing. I think a lot of younger fans are fine with the idea of WWE being the only game in town, because that's all a lot of them have ever really known. Maybe they remember a little bit of WCW or ECW towards the end, but for the most part, it's been WWE. TNA has been this annoying little gnat in the background.

But for old guys like me, I'm accustomed to variety. I was able to watch the WWF and JCP/NWA/WCW from the time I first took an interest in wrestling back in '84. I was also able to watch the AWA and WCCW for most of the 80s. I saw the last few months of UWF/Mid South before they merged with JCP. I followed other territories as best as I could through the Apter mags, and briefly with the Pedicino/Solie tv show "Pro Wrestling This Week."

I guess I'm just saying that I thought things were better back then. There were options for the viewers, and just as important, options for the workers. They could learn different styles, keep their characters fresh, and if a door was closed to them in one organization, they could still apply their craft in another.

I know that times have changed but, in my opinion, having WWE (or anyone) as the only game in town doesn't really help the industry in the long run.

Agreed OnTheAir. I just think TNA has too much dead weight right now.

TNA's roster page is funny. Garrett Bischoff, Wes Brisco, Gunner, Anderson, Abyss, Brooke Hogan, Robbie E, Rob Terry, Chavo, Hernandaz, Hulk Hogan, Jesse, and Rockstar Spud all have jobs with TNA.

Most of the longtime TNA guys are carrying the company, without much help really. They're also paying fat contracts to MMA guys who aren't doing anything.

Could be a stinger. Saw that happen once before at a show. Hope there is no permanent damage. Damn, he was trained by Ian Rotten? How did he become a competent wrestler?

Is TNA paying the contracts or is Spike flipping the bill because the of the dual programing with TNA and Bellator?

Now that you mention it ,Spike is paying the MMA guys.

Should Big Show return as a face/heel or tweener?,I just hope he doesn't get on a jobbing spree again

Good to know.

Piledriver on the apron? That's pretty insane.

Alex Riley is the new Matt Striker.

Undertaker Vs. Sid from WM 13 is a guilty pleasure of mine. Just wish Hart Vs. Austin had been for the title instead. The thing with Sid is if he had passion for wrestling, he would've held his main event position for years to come. Fans like me loved the guy and so did Vince. He had "it."

The Big Show needs a long title reign. At least 6 months with the belt before retiring.
Hart vs Austin was perfect it didn't need to be for the title,in fact having a it as a title match would just watered down that fued/match (imo)It was about 2 men that hated what each other stood for and were willing to put aside their personal goals to make sure they ended one another's career.I think it was the greatest storytelling match in wwe history.

This.

Well, it's better than a Five Knuckle Shuffle to the face.

still cant get over that for a company that is so PG, so family friendly, so non insulting in an image they want to portray

they have they're top guy have a finishing move that is code or slang the world over for having a wank

seriously everytime cole on commentary shouts "vintage cena, another finish with the 5 knuckle shuffle"

COME ON

That's a good question. I've been watching some ECW lately for the first time in years (I loved it back in the late 90s), but damn, some of their guys put on really sloppy matches for the sake of being "extreme".

Is she seriously holding 2 sai with a Michelangelo costume?

Also, pretty sure that Big Show pic was from a few years back when he was training to become a boxer, I know I've seen it before.

"Velvet, I appreciate the effort you put in to sneak into my bedroom at night and show off your erotic underwear collection, but I am afraid your matching those weapons with that outfit violates the canon established by multiple iterations of the classic TMNT franchise. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." :(

I agree. I don't mind Jesse and Robbie E much. Every company needs jobbers. But I've had my fill of the rest. I kind of thought Abyss's Joseph Park gimmick was amusing at first, and could have gone some interesting places. But it's pretty much run its course with me now, even to the point where if/when they do the reveal, I no longer care.

I didn't know until Kevin Kelly mentioned it during Whitmer's match with Charlie Haas, I guess he just learned the basics from him. Speaking of Haas, who thought the Outlaw gimmick was a good fit for him?

Good to know.

Piledriver on the apron? That's pretty insane.

I think all those apron moves are because there's no give, like Steen powerbombing guys onto the apron, it's just asking for injuries.

Or the opposite. :oldrazz:

I'd add Chavo and Hernandez from the list as guys who can still offer something, Chavo would be a good general for the X division and with the right booking Hernandez can be a solid mid carder. I'm not sure what they are doing with Parks at this point, it seems like they never really had a plan and the character got over enough that they aren't thinking of switching him back.

B.J. Whitmer talked with PWInsider this morning, updating them on the status and severity of his injures suffered at this weekend's Ring of Honor live event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

According to their most recent report, Whitmer immediately lost feeling in the right side of his body when his head came down on the ring apron, following a piledriver from Michael Bennett. Several trained EMTs, including Davey Richards, came down to check on him, and the match was then called off as a stretcher took him out of the arena.

B.J. is up and moving out of bed, and has regained full use of the right side of his body, and has movement in his back. While he said he is still feeling the pain, movement is definitely a great sign. He will be undergoing a full range of tests today, but X-Rays have already shown that he does not have any fractures, but has most likely ruptured a disc in his back.

Glad to hear he's doing fine, the disc injury will put him out for a while but it sounds like a stinger as Nexy suggested. I didn't know Davey was a trained EMT.

Good to know.

Some moves just shouldn't be done. Piledrivers can really **** you up if you don't play it right, why it's such an effective move to the fans. One of those moves you should play it safe with always and not do stupid **** like using it on the ring apron or concrete without a buffer.
