Just wrapped up the 3 Rhodey-centric issues of Iron Man: Director of SHIELD. Not diggin this cyborg business one bit. He apparently needs his face mask and chest plate or else he'll die. Seriously? The explanation for this better be fantastic. Here's hoping he can make a deal w/ Blackheart and get his organic parts back

Cyborg just had a mini series over at DC that i read( it sucked) so's there's noway that could happen. my guess is they are trying to differentiate him from Tony,but that's dumb as hell.Plus Marvel already has a Cyborg in Deathlok, and he's black too. what are they trying to do turn every black dude in Marvel into a Cyborg?? see this is the stupid crap that's has me stop reading Marvel as much as i use too. They don't need to turn Rodney into a Cyborg to make him different from tony. He's his own man already.That sucks

yup and Deathlok has been around for alot longer than Cyborg as well.
I'm not sure I like War machine beinging somewhat the same as Deathlok tho.

Whatever happen to Rhodey couldn't have been that long ago, sometime inbetween Sentinel Squad and Avengers: The Initiative. It makes sense since he didn't make an appearance in CW.

An explosion would be most likely. It's the easiest way to lose your whole lower body, right arm, and half your face I can think of.

I get what you mean about Rhodey not needing to be a cyborg to be different than tony though. But hey, we find out why he's a cyborg in issue #1 of WM so we'll have to just wait and see...

Yeah, basically. It's pretty lame. He's all angsty about being a cyborg too, which is understandable since he's clearly missing his junk along with the rest of his lower body, but it's still unnecessary angst on a character who should be all about kicking ass, not whining about his lost wang.

Man! the more you guys talk about him as cyborg. the more I'm thinking this book will get canceled after a couple issues so why even bother in the 1st place. i hated that Alien armor dude had and this sounds even lamer.
Especially that angst part.Damn hasn't that been done to death, and i wasnt kidding about Marvel and black dudes becoming cyborgs. Doesnt Bishop have a robotic arm now or some crap like that? what is going on!

The arc in Iron Man: Director of SHIELD was great, though. It just had that one crappy element of Rhodey being about 3/4ths robot. I don't think the cyborg aspect should prevent anyone from reading War Machine. Just know it's there and try to ignore it.
