SPAWN. I tried to like this character. I really did. I enjoyed the hell out of the first season of the animated series. I even liked the movie. But the comic is completely unenjoyable for me. It makes no sense, it's inconsistent, contradictory, & just ill-conceived. My two biggest problems for the longest time have been 1-if Al was dead for 5 years & Cyan can speak in perfect sentences-making her AT LEAST 4-when did Terry make his move? At the funeral? 2-Malebolgia gave Spawn his powers. Spawn uses said powers AGAINST Malebolgia. Why can't Malebolgia take them back? Or kill him? It makes no sense. And after I read issue # 100 I gave explicit instructions to all my loved ones to bash me upside the head f they ever caught me touching another Spawn book.
SILVER SURFER. Never really grabbed me. Similar to my Spawn argument. If he won't use the power the way Galactus intended, why doesn't the big G just take them back?
VENOM. I was once a big Venom fan, but then he got overdone, overused, overexposed & I just got tired of him. I find him highly inconsistent & contradictory as well. I actually found him more likeable in the movie than on the page.
CARNAGE. Pretty much the same. Again, I liked him at first, but I got tired of him. And if I want mindless, senseless violence, I don't go to New York, I go to Gotham. Joker's been doing it longer & he's better at it.
AQUAMAN. How much crime happens underwater that they need a superhero? J/K. But seriously, nothing about him ever grabbed me.
NAMOR. Ditto.
IRON MAN. I've stated my reasons in too many threads.
WONDER WOMAN. Despite Lynda Carter's jump-starting my voyage to manhood, the character just holds no appeal for me at all.
SUPERMAN. To be honest, it's noone's fault really that he's so uninteresting. He's been around so long that seemingly every Superman story has been told. Twice. They made him so powerful in the beginning that it seemed almost impossible to present him any real challenges. Then in order to present him a challenge they have to either strip his powers away (Kryptonite, red sun, general loss of powers altogether) or bring in something unstoppable that noone can defeat. (e.g. Darkseid, Doomsday) So basically in every story he's either invincible & infallible or he's getting his @$$ kicked. Can we get a middle ground?

I agree never saw what people dug in him so much
SILVER SURFER.
gotta disagree cause for an Omnipotent being to give someone a surfboard of all things is always cool in my book
VENOM.CARNAGE.
I 100% agree besides being visually striking dude is really a mediocre villain who i never really cared for, not even in the movie. Spidey has a ton more better villains than these two
AQUAMAN.NAMOR
gotta disagree. I think Aquaman gets a bum deal cause of Superfriends. that all he could do was talk to fish and need a lift from Wonder-Woman. He just needs a good writer. That whole story about him having his hand eating by piranhas was some of his best ever. Namor well i like Namor cause he's a jerk. You don't know if he's going to be your friend or stab you in the heart.
IRON MAN.
gotta disagree only cause i am sorta bias after seeing that movie Hehe. I will probably agree with you later on.
WONDER WOMAN
gotta disagree on account of what you said Lynda Carter and millions of women dressing as her for Halloween will always keep this character next to my heart! siggghhh
gotta disagree. I do agree that he's way to powerful and for the most part most , his villains suck, but i love that entire DC Unvierse looks up to him. Kinda like your dad and how you wanna make him proud. it's kinda cool how he inspires the rest of them.Even Bats

my choice
Harley- Quinn- i dont get why so many people love her and more so. if the joker was such a psychopathic maniac. why would he keep a sidekick around ?maybe for a couple of issues, but he would have killed her by now. i dont get that.

The Joker plays parts. His taste for theatrics is more or less an aspect of his insanity. Having a side kick, in his mind, seems proper.

yeah but shouldnt he have killed her by now or shouldnt she have left him now to go to a battled woman's shelter ? Shouldn't she have moved on to, oh i dont know tag around with the Mad Hatter or somebody? I dont think the joker needs a side kick but thats just me.

The Batman of the comics. I like the character in virtually every other medium but the comics Batman comes off as an ******* who has been made too powerful. He's meant to be a normal human but is taking down guys he has no business fighting. I can read stories like Year One, Long Halloween TDKR and enjoy him but I can't get into his ongoing series.

That's assuming that she's at all sane. I don't see why he should have killed her, either. It's not like he has an insatiable lust for blood. Even when written at his sanest, he gets his jollies from playing the criminal mastermind. And master criminals have side kicks.

There's some truth in that, I think.

I heavily enjoyed the "Iron Man" movie despite my dislike of the character.
I disagree w/you on Harley; however much she annoys Joker she has her uses, & is stupid enough to take his abuse. He'll use her until he no longer sees a use for her.

Add pretty much anyone who has ever gone by the name Green Lantern.

Venom.

Most overrated comic book character ever! No wonder Sam Raimi wasn't interested in using him.

I'm a little surprised that others are going with me on Venom. Last time I spoke ill of him I caught hell.
Oh-I forgot the Punisher. I've tried to get into him, & I've found a few of his stories interesting. I even liked the 2004 movie. But he just doesn't leap off the page for me. All I see is a man with a grudge & a gun.

Venom's a polarising character. A lot of people feel he is two deminsional and boring but there is a strong love for him as well.

Depending on where you put your thread and what day of the week it is, you'll either get praised for hating the guy or be attacked for it. I can't think of another character in comics who divides people so much. He's like John Cena.

but he's got that cool ass big honkin skull on his chest.
for me he's more, cause he's an answer to that question. Why does Batman keep arresting the Joker if he knows he going to commit more crime.why not just kill him and be done. Also when you have so many imitations it's hard to like him, but i consider him to be an original, even before Wolverine. The punisher also strikes me as being really tortured. Like if he didn't kill criminals, he would kill himself. Like that's the only thing that keeps him alive.... and venom just sucks! he also slobbers alot.hehe

Maybe Batman realizes that killing people would make him no better than the guys he fights against.

True. But Castle knows he not better, he just wants to punish criminals. He's knows he's not to inspire others like Supes or Captain America. I remember reading once where Cap asked him what will happen once there are no more criminals to go after.Castle responded by saying that the last bullet was for him. That's a very tragic character, and the reason why i dig Punisher.

Don't get me wrong. I see where he comes from. I've often thought that if I were in Spider-Man's position, I probably would've killed Norman Osborn by now. But Castle just isn't someone who can hold my interest for very long. Like I said, I even liked the movie. But his kind of storyline just isn't what I read comics for.

616 Fantastic Four. I find their comics boring and inconsistent. Anyone remmber them meeting Jack Kirby in heaven WHERE HE WAS GOD! That's just ****in ******ed! I think that was the lamest way to bring back a character and I hate the FF(although I do like the movies so make of it what you will).

You actually hated that story?

You, sir, have no soul.

And no one deserves to be God of the Marvel Universe more than Jack Kirby.

Superman

Gambit

Cable

Fantastic Four

Captain America

Spider Man

I agree.

Excellent, I can add you to my list of people who hate things that are good.

Oh man! I have to agree with the others Chris.Kirby is Classic universe God!..... i don't think you are made of suck though. hehe.

I just never was a big FF fan, that's all. I enjoyed the movie & the "Ultimate" version (its Doom revamp aside) moreso than the regular title. I'm not knocking Kirby. Although I will add Hank Pym (& whatever the hell we're calling him this week) to my list.

More proof of your suckitude. How do you live?!?
