I know there is a mid credits scene but is there a post credits scene as well in the avengers

It is very funny. I didn't stick around for it a second time (saw it last night again) but I seriously busted a gut the first time i saw it.

dang it i left the theater on my first time seeing the avengers right after the mid credits scene

Depends. Not if you are outside USA. If you are in america, stay; its hilarious.

That's odd.

There isn't even any dialogue they would need to translate.

They shot it the night during the US premier, and the film had already been sent around to other parts of the world by that time.

Not sure if the additional scene is in Canada, but I will see the movie a second time and see.

Maybe in other countries, Thor eating a shawarma isn't as hilarious as it is in the US

It should be since Canada and US are lumped together in North America as domestic while everything is considered international.

Yes, Canada has this scene as well.

A group of six in the front were laughing their asses off, whilst the rest of the theater watched in silence.

Not for everyone I guess.

I personally found it was a pretty cool idea. However it also came off as free advertising. In lesser films this has been said to literally piss people off.

How so? They weren't eating at a real restaurant. Or if they were, it definitely wasn't in New York.

Exactly. Shawarma is simply a type of food, not a brand. It's not like Tony suggested they all go get a refreshing Dr. Pepper afterwards, then the team was shown knocking back the soda straight from cans. (Instead, they blew up a Dr. Pepper truck, which was perfectly acceptable product placement. :cwink:)

For the record, shawarma is delicious.

Plus they were all acting like they hated it anyways which isn't good advertising.

It didn't look like that at all. They were simply exhausted from battle. That's why they looked so down.

Tony had already finished his, Bruce was eating and Thor was clearly enjoying it, lol.

When you ate a whole one you feel pretty full. And so they look like, I think.

I saw the movie in NY last night and I heard a bunch of people asking each other what shwarama was as we were leaving. Everyone laughed though, especially at Thor scarfing it down at the end. I think just the sight of a bunch of superheroes sitting shell shocked and eating in a deli is funny enough.

We see them doing such extrodinary things that to see a bunch of superheroes doing anything "normal" is hilarious.

Imagine Thor ordering a pizza, Cap watching Jersey Shore etc.

HILARIOUS.

Poor Thor. No pizza, no shawarma, no coffee on his world. That's why he's always reluctant to leave.

Shawarma sales are apparently up across the US. Do a Google search and newspapers all have a story on local restaurants getting new customers.
It was probably the best product placement even though there was no brand and free.

Exactly. I laughed at Thor most during that scene. The thought of a powerful royal God casually eating in a shawarma shop is hilarious.

And dammit, you make me wanna see Cap watching, if not to just see the look on his face. It'll probably look something like this.
