Post any and all ideas you have for Elseworlds universe stories that you want to see/read but have not thus far been done.

I'd like to see a detective/spy drama with the Justice League as normal humans. It would be set in New York, the characters being:

Clark Kent: Crusading investigative reporter for the New York Times. The type who makes it his job to piss off all the wrong people.

Barry Allen: Clark's college roommate and forensic scientist for the NYPD. Often serves as Clark's police contact during his investigations.

Hal Jordan: A pilot at the nearby closest base, and good friend of Clark's. Helps get Clark information pertaining to the military.

Bruce Wayne: New York City billionare playboy, moonlights as the vigilante known as "The Batman." As The Batman, he has contacted Kent, seeing him as an ally in his war on crime.

Commisioner James Gordon: New York Cimmisioner of Police, and The Batman's contact within the department. A sort of mentor to Barry.

Lex Luthor: Local buisnessman and corperate rival of Bruce. Has some rather morally questionable motives.

Diana: Europian aristocrat and Greek ambasador to the United States.

Aurthur: Diana's husban and illigitimate child of an aristocratic family in Europe. Recently gained access to his inheritence.

John Jones: Former detective for the NYPD, now a college professor. Served as a teacher for both Clark and Barry.

The Joker: A psychoic murderer responsible for spree slayings all across New York. Named for the Joker playing card he leaves at the scene of each of his kills.

The Rogues: A New York street gang, notable for their flare for theatrics and low body count.

I like that idea Question. Do you have a title for it?

My idea for an Elseworlds story is called, for the moment, The Martian Manhunter Who Fell To Earth, in reference to the book/film The Man Who Fell To Earth. It is the story of how J'onn J'onzz, AKA: The Martian Manhunter, came to Earth and found a Kansas farmer named Jonathan Kent lying by the roadside, dying from wounds suffered in a car accident. Unable to save him, J'onn scans Kent's mind, learning everything about Kent's life, his marriage to Martha, and the ways of the human race, and then assumes his identity, giving him a quiet burial on the Kent farm and faking some minor injuries. Years go by and Martha never suspects that her husband is the last of the Martian race. Then, "J'onn Kent" finds the baby rocket ship of Kal-El crash landing in his field and, recognizing it as Kryptonian technology, hides the stuff in the barn and raises baby Kal-El, renamed Clark Kent, to adulthood. After Clark's powers manifest, J'onn reveals his true form, shocking his adopted Kryptonian son and his adopted Earth wife (can you imagine how it must feel to find out that you've been sleeping with an alien?); following this, J'onn uses his telepathy to delve deep into Clark's mind, digging up what he can find from Clark's nearly lost memories of being an infant on Krypton, thus giving Clark the ability to unlock the secrets of the Kryptonian rocket ship that brought him to Earth. J'onn reveals his other powers as well, and uses them to help Clark master his own, while Martha tries to silently reconcile the shock of all this. Once having mastered his many abilities, Clark decides to become Superman, a decision that J'onn opposes, only to have Clark tell his Martian father that he owes it to his foster world to help them out. Touched by the sentiment, and seeing as how Martha Kent can no longer stand to look at him, J'onn decides to join Clark in the world of superheroes - where he becomes known as the Martian Manhunter. Years later, J'onn tries to reconcile with Martha.

Sorry, I know that's stupid, but there you have it.

That actually sounds pretty cool. And really, I have no idea what I'd call my series.

I'd like to see the DCU thrown into the wild west and have it centered around Batman who'd be like Zorro fighting the represive govenor of California Alexander Luthor, He'd have help from Sherrif Clark Kent and US Marshall Hal Jordan, as well as a mysterious Civil War vet named John Jones.

You and I have spoken about this before. It would definitely present a much-needed twist to the cliche origins that DC always seems to come out with. We need a new origins' story that presents something completely different; and that is what you have came up with.

Think how that would effect the Martian Manhunter and Superman's relationship (I don't mean romance. -_-) when it came to taking part in the Justice League! Superman would undoubtedly be J'onn's inferior. Since that martian would have really been the man who raised him.

:cwink:

Not much of a concept, but I would love to see Kingdom Come played out on Bizarro-World.

In all honesty, though, I'd like to have seen what would've happened to the Superboy of Earth-Prime if the Crisis on Infinite Earths never happened. A teenage kid in a world what is essentially our real world (give or take a nuclear war) discovering that not only are the old superhero stories true, but that he is Superman himself.

I mean really, imagine if after all your years of reading about Superman and the rest of the Justice League, you found out that you were the real guy. Would you use the fictional Superman reputation to boost your own, or would you try and break away from the comic-book tradition? Would you let people know about it? Would you look for any others who might also end up becoming legends right out of the comic (say, go looking for the real Bruce Wayne or the real Diana Prince)? What would you do if suddenly the line between myth and reality became permanently blurred for you?

Of course, after the Crisis-es (Crises?), Superboy-Prime has been reduced to a sniveling whiny nutcase who killed the more popular Superboy. But just thinking about the "what ifs" make the character all the more tragic.

[EDIT: Crap. That sorta thing's already been done in "Secret Identity." Nevermind]

Superman is beating up a thug. J'onn comes over.

J'onn: No, son, like this.

Grabs the thug and starts beating him in a somewhat more efficient manner.

J'onn: You need to keep your arm lax enough so you don't hurt him too much, but still put enough force behind it so he feels it.

Clark: Dad, I know...

Steve! Good to see ya. I was wondering if you still came by here when not hanging around Chefelf's.

Codename: Superman

This Elseworld tale would be about Kal-El's ship steering off coarse from Smallville to Langley. The CIA take Kal-El upon find the history of Krypton, and decide to turn him into the perfect assassin. Meanwhile Lex Luthor is a senator running for the President of the US. He tells the world that with supervillians and terrorists try to tear our nation apart, he is going to create a group of heroes to help combat this.

He gets Captain Marvel to endorse him and he ends up winning. Captain Marvel in this Elseworld is like what Superman would have been with the Kents. Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Flash help become the JLA.

When President Luthor decides to cut the CIA's project funding, they send Superman to take out the President.

In which a showdown for the ages Superman vs the JLA.

Cool.

Now this really IS a stupid idea for an Elseworlds story: the infant Kal-El (Superman) crashes on Themyscira instead of Kansas, where he is then raised as the only "son" of the Amazons, who then send him out to be their peace ambassador while Diana (usually Wonder Woman) ascends to the throne as the queen of the island.

Something involving the Anti Monitor, and having hundreds of Supermen from different parallel universes come together for one big battle at the end...

I like it...

I had this idea that Luthor apprisionates Lois in a Kryptonite force field Superman cant pass. The force field works as a planthouse where the heat stays in there, So, he will have to watch her die slowly. I thought it was nice to see Lois probably dieing because of Superman`s powers source, the Sun. So, in order to save Lois, Superman flies away till he has some distance, To space probably. He shoots back down in order to reach the speed of light since light is the only thing that could pass the force field.

And because of Einstein said, if an object reaches the speed of light, it would travel through time, to the future. So Superman can see the future and the world is an Utopia, a place of goodness and where everybody is happy, Superman`s ultimate dream.

So basically we have in the same story whaT I consider his 2 motivations: LOVE for Lois and HOPE for making Earth a better place.

I`d write it someday.

How's about this one:

Fifteen-some-odd years after Jor-El and Lara sent Kal-El to Earth, Krypton still hasn't exploded. For whatever reason, Jor-El's theories were wrong, and the House of El is disgraced. Nearly all of his deeds are either ignored or overturned, culminating in the release of General Zod from the Phantom Zone. Finally, after years of humiliation and inquiries by the Council into nearly all of their affairs, Jor-El and Lara leave Krypton to find the only person who they believe will accept them: their son.

They arrive on Earth and search for traces of their son's whereabouts, eventually leading them to Smallville. As the sun rises on the Kent farm, a young Clark has just discovered some of the first traces of his powers, and he is both ecstatic and afraid. Before he can tell Ma and Pa about it, he is confronted by Jor-El and Lara, who tell him of his true legacy. What's more, they ask him to join them, re-uniting their family. The Kents realize that Jor-El is telling the truth, and that they had no right to keep him from his natural family. Clark, though, doesn't want to leave the people who raised him, and now must choose between families.

Meanwhile, General Zod has resumed his crusade to overthrow the Council back on Krypton. Without Jor-El's tactics, the Council is defeated by Zod's army, and in a desperate gamble to save their world from his tyranny, they send a distress signal to the Green Lantern Corps. The GL Tomar-Re answers and tries to intervene, but in the end, Zod kills him. The ring searches for a proper replacement, but since nearly all of the Kryptonians have either fallen under Zod's sway or were driven into hiding from him, it instead searches for the Kryptonian that was originally meant to be the replacement Lantern for the sector: Kal-El.

Pt 2 coming up later....gotta go to work.
