Potential Spidey B.O.?

I'm just curious to see how much money you think that the 3rd installment will pull in. At first I thought that the film would dominate the box office into June and possibly early July, but I'm not so sure anymore.

SM3 opens on May 4, 2007. Guess which film is closely following this one?

Pirates!! Don't misunderstand. I like both films, but if Spidey doesn't do mega numbers, will we see a 4th one? I'm hoping so.

Look at what Pirates did to SR by opening closely afterwards. Granted, SR was a great disappointment, but nobody really expected Pirates to dominate in the way that it did.

Which film do you see dominating '07?

Spidey, Pirates, or another? Can both profit successfully?

Spidey definitely! A lot of people are watching POTC2 because the first one was good, out of curiosity because of the hype, and proper marketing. Most people who watched it came out disappointed and I believe that would carry through till next year. Everybody loves Spidey1, and all the more Spidey 2. POTC3 will definitely profit succesfully but not as profitable as Spidey 3 will be!

When I first read the title, I thought "Potential Spider Man Body Odor? WTF?"

Not sure, completely. I think I'd predict somewhere around the same amount as SM2.... maybe slightly more, because of this movie's inclusion of certain characters popular amongst the general public.

Uh, I'm not so sure about the material longevity(gross over the course of 4 to 6 weeks) of this film anymore; two weeks after it opens, Shrek 3 comes out. One week after that, it's Pirates.

Wtf? I'm hopin' that Spidey's earlier opening will give it the edge, but who knows?

I believe it's gonna make between 380-390M domestically
