Hope you guys enjoy it! Tried to make something a bit more grounded.

very cool. are there going to be more with the other rangers?

Must check this out when I get home. No video plays on this train.

I guess I'm the only one who's reaction to this is meh. Has to Morph to beat up Punks and the costume looked too obviously like a motorcycle jacket.

Thanks for the positive reactions!

You are not the first to mention it, well, here you are. But thanks for the feedback. The video is definitely not without flaws. We only had a ZERO budget. Literally, no money was spent other on the helmet and jacket. We didn't have proper lighting, and had friends act the scenes out (which was a bad idea... they were horrible). No microphone either, so audio is okay at best.

This was more of a pitch, to see if people would be interesting in seeing a Rangers short in this tone. Perhaps a web series. We have the means of doing it, just couldn't gather them for a first outing.

All I see are a bunch of people shoving others around instead of having punches thrown. I'm a fellow independent filmmaker, so I get the "let's not spend money unless we absolutely have to" mentality. However, my philosophy is the degree you pull your punches depends on how much you have to lose. If you're an up and comer, you can't afford to pull the punches or it just looks stupid. At the very least, watch a few movies and see how they stage them and edit them, and put some blankets down so your opponent can actually fall when dealt a devastating blow on camera so he doesn't get hurt behind the scenes.

This is a great example why MMPR should never get the nolan treatment. They just don't work when having to deal with petty crimes like this. If they were legit bangers, someone would've laughed then pulled a gun and literally shot him in the chest.

I liked it for what it was. But, it seemed a little too serious.

And I think he should've been able to take those guys without morphing.

Without the sparking when people get hit, its just not the same. :(

The intro was great. Made it look like you had a big production behind it. Audio was alright like you said, but some follies for the fighting could have worked improved the audio. I dug the look of the red ranger, even the Iron Man inside the helmet nod was a nice touch. For what you had, it's pretty impressive.

Very impressed with the look and how it has been shot. Well done, and look forward to the potential possibility of seeing the other Rangers. :)

Thanks all for the comments, looking forward to sharing more work with you guys soon. We made it to over 8K in under 3 days. Pretty proud of that.

Definitely not going for the Nolan treatment here, which is why there wasn't a gun. We can only push the darkness so far when it comes to Rangers, and having guns in this would have been too much. Tone wise, I thought it was pretty good, if you haven't already, read the films description on the youtube page for more insight! Thanks for watching, and for sharing your respectable opinion!

I personally LOVED it, and im very happy there was no guns. you took the short to a happy medium to where is wasnt to violent but it was serious. and yes he morphed to beat up 3 guys who were a legitimate threat to an innocent girl, and who kicked him in the face.

I read the "Synopsis" before i watched the video and it looks like he hasnt fought in 5 years which is why he had to morph.

Well Done. AMAZING Motorcycle scene.:woot:

12,000 view now. Congrats. i Googled "Red Rising MMPR" and a bunch of stuff came up too.

Heres some updates for those interested on how the video is doing:

We passed 18K views as of this week.

We made it to screenrant.com under geek picks! They called our video "The Dark Knight of Power Rangers" Click HERE to view that article.

The current Red Ranger, Alex Heartman tweeted our video. As well as SinBad the comedian, and tomcruise.com!

Ehhh it was alright, good for a fan film though.

So this video got a lot of buzz on the net. Screenrant.com gave us a massive shout out, saying its " the dark knight of ranger fan films".

We took home second place at a local film festival and recently topped 36K views. Thanks for the support!

About to hit another milestone for this video, closing in on 50K VIEWS! We got tons of support and we're currently prepping our biggest project yet.

Can't wait to share it with you guys!
