The Dark Knight Pre-credits Prologue : The Joker's origin.

LOL! Just did!

My "Joker Origin" one is there, too, now.

I'll update it when I post the new one. :woot: :cwink:

Thanks. :D

I just recently made a short little funny vid.

If any of you participated in the "Jokers Socks" thread, you'll appreciate this. Just a little dedication I made towards Mr. J's esteemed fashion sense. :woot:
LOL ! You're a great Joker videast and I'm glad your origin video is featured in this thread.

Not a NEW one (though I will make a new one when we get actual footage).

Just updated, really. I cleaned it up in parts, had more card scenes, and added one more quick scene that I thought was a good fit. :woot:

I'll check and see if Youtube is still being a jerk. :whatever:

PS: I'm glad you all like my Socky Vidja. Love that Joker. :oldrazz:

Yeah, i want to see the one you do with more Joker footage in it.(when it's available)

Just uploaded it.

It's available on youtube as we speak-uh. Just follow the link in my siggy. :hyper:

I think the Joker should be originless and i'm pretty convinced now that it is what we'll get in the movie. Every origin so far as well as they were done took a little away from the mystery of the character, B89, TKJ among the most famous. We don't need to know he was a failed comedian or a second tier gangster or that his mommy beat him or whatever, he is just the "Midnight Clown" coming straight out of our worst nightmares.
Even though i like the chemical vat for its old serial flavour, i prefer a Joker who's a total mystery just like in B # 1 (heavily referenced by Nolan) and like i said i think that's what we'll get, possibly with different diverging accounts about the Joker from people who crossed his path .
I think that "urban legend" angle is scarier and that the less we know about him the better. We should never know too much about the Bogeyman, and let our imagination do the rest.
(Has Bob Kane or someone on his watch ever done the Joker's origin, other than the vat i mean, like for instance who he was pre-vat ?)

Watched the Joker's origin again and even though it contradicts my previous post, i think it's brilliantly done. It does bring a certain pathos to the character a la TKJ, but i think the Joker like John Doe or Alex de Large is best as a "man without a past". Anyway, great work, very professional, i really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one.

:woot: Thanks.

I think I could go either way. I really want to dig into his past, but another part of me wants him to remain a complete mystery.

Maybe please both ends. Maybe have him start out completely unaccounted for (no background whatsoever, no records, no ORIGIN), but then... further into the movie, maybe give us little surprising snippets.
Could be flashbacks or spoken memories/recollections.

I'll be happy which ever way they go. :hyper: I just want to see Mr. J mowin' people down with an AK. And now. :ninja:

Ditto. Thanks again for a beautiful work.

Your fan base is growing Shadow71689.

The great British movie magazine Empire has hinted in its August issue that there might be a pre-credits prologue sequence adressing the Joker's origin.

Do you prefer your Joker originless like in Batman #1, (or like he's so far rumoured to be in TDK.)

Would you like some form of origin to be featured in the film, chemical vat, skin condition, zipline, Batarang etc... ?

Or do you think the pre-credits prologue gimmick is a good idea ?

And would you like to see Heath's real face at some point implying that we see some form of transformation of the character, other than his Joker's physique getting worse and worse throughout the movie ?

Thank you. Should you find this thread useless just ignore it and it'll go away peacefully into the sunset.

Begins didn't even have opening credits. so whether there is a joker origin or not, i doubt there will be a precredits anything

I really dont like an epilogue of the joker in this movie though nolan loves those back and forth between timeline movies but i dont think this is the case in this one.

I did it! I finally killed Batman! In front of a bunch of vulnerable, disabled kids!!!! Now get me Santa Claus!" HAHAHAHAHA

lol, thanks guys. :woot:

Yeah, I was thinking about putting that line in there, but I'll probably save it for when I redo it. (when we get the footage)

...Unless Joker speaks a line even better. :hyper:

Like i said before, can't wait to see the next "origin".

How does that make sense?

Why would BB have had a teaser? The whole movie was origin.

This one is not.

This one needs a quick run up to the top of the roller coaster before the ride can start and I'd hate to see that run up drawn out into some lame 30 - 40 minute first act when we could be already watching the movie at that point.

Batman needed/needs reasoning because he's the good guy.

The Joker doesn't require the same. He has the insanity defense. Why explain it away? So he's less scary?

There should be different diverging accounts about the Joker from the people who crossed his path and survived.
No origin though, just snippets of info throughout the film.
Some could say he used to be a failed comedian (nice hommage to TKJ), others a low life gangster (B89), but nobody would know for sure where he came from. Just like the Bogeyman.
The more mystery surrounding him the better, just like in Batman #1, still to this day, IMO, one of the best Joker appearance ever, and also heavily referenced by Nolan.
