Predict when the 2nd trailer will be out

How does this not confirm him as trolling? No one in history has ever hoped to see a non descript cornfield with no importance to the plot or anything in a film adaptation.

I'm dying to know why you're defending this film more fanatically than the people who made it.

The cornfield shot made it into the trailer because there wasn't enough finished CGI to show much of anything else. I expect cornfields to be as integral to the plot as Doom's blogging habits.

This may well be true, and if so, I think the proper response to this trailer is: "Well, we haven't really seen anything yet, so there's nothing to get excited about yet. Hopefully we'll see more in the next trailer."

And that's basically where I'm at. But people take issue with that and indicate they're seeing something exciting in the trailer . . . but they can't seem to articulate what's so exciting about it or how it resembles UFF except for minor details.

Boom. I really think the teaser could have been nothing but a slow zoom in on Miles Teller's face for a solid minute and a half in complete silence, fade to black, and then "FANT4STIC" across the screen, and we'd still have people here defending it.

1.) this is going to be a modern retelling much like in the UFF
2.) the roster will be younger much like in the UFF
3.) Doom will have a shared origin with the F4 much like in the UFF
4.) Sue will be a scientist of some sort much like in the theUFF
5.) Ben and Reed will be childhood friends much like in the UFF
6.) they go to the N Zone instead of outerspace much like in the UFF
7.) Dr. Storm works for Baxter Institute much like in the UFF

I can go on and on.

As far as we know there's going to be found-footage elements, a darker tone, a lo-fi gritty feel, young people discovering and coping with their newfound abilities....

Well if the trailer 'set the tone' then the tone certainly IS closer to Chronicle 2 than Fantastic Four or UFF.

It's obviously not going to literally be Chronicle 2, but the trailer certainly made it look like a small, chronicle-type film as opposed to the big-budget visual spectacle resembling FF or UFF comic books that I'd like to see.

Would have really gotten me excited, but based on the 'tone' established by the trailer, I have little hope we'll see anything spectacular like that.

I'll agree to this. The only reason why I particularly liked the trailer is because it deconfirmed my worst fears, not because it was a great trailer.

Age of Ultron on the other hand, did show a great trailer. Better than FF, Ant-Man and Daredevil combined.

This is coming from somebody who's definition of a great trailer is 300.

And all those have taken over FF in terms of popularity. Like I said, FF has lost it's relevance. Most comic fans now care more about the side characters that were introduced in FF than the FF themselves. Only few like you truly appreciate the core FF.

Most of those characters that you mentioned are not possible to bring in FF cuz marvel owns the rights barring silver surfer, Galactus, super skrull and 2-3 more.

As far as spectacle is concerned, the first 3 issues of original fan4 when they were introduced were essentially SciFi horror and wasn't until later issue that they got the iconic costumes and we started seeing the big creatures and out there stuff. I think that is what resonated more with Josh and that's what we are getting, not the later issues when they really became fan4.

You remember the FF after they got the blue costume, which is understandable cuz that's what resonated more to you and many other fans of comics. However, nothing can be done now. The movie is coming and we will see whether it is a turkey (likely...) or decent flick.

BTW they don't wear costumes in this so why complain about the costumes in the movie? I ain't defending the movie, but still...would have been better if the last shot in FF trailer were them in regular clothes. Would have resulted in a mass meltdown of the internet.

Given the choice between regular clothes and the worst costumes ever in any superhero film (which is what we saw in the trailer), I'd take regular clothes.

But ideally, they should just start the film as an established team. Nobody ever read FF because of their origin. Over 99 % of FF comic books feature them as an established team fighting major, world-threatening foes, and that's what people want to see.
