Predict when the 2nd trailer will be out

Except for the scene of Reed and Ben as kids, what other scene in the trailer looked like UFF?

Well no one has seen the film yet. So we just have to wait and see before dismissing it. according to the reports... it is highly inspired by Uff. You are judging the film simply on the visuals and not the actual content -story... plot..character dynamics.

But a trailer should show us something about what the film is going to be about, and I see very little FF or UFF in that trailer.

As an FF fan, I look at that trailer and say: "Where's the FF?"

If I were a UFF fan, I'm sure I'd look at it and say: "Where's the UFF?"

There's nothing to like in that trailer for fans of either.

And as I say over and over, that doesn't mean it's not going to be good and that doesn't mean we won't eventually get a trailer that shows us something, but based on the trailer we currently have (and it's the only thing we currently have to judge), this film doesn't offer anything to FF or UFF fans.

This isn't about what the film will be but what the trailer was. And we saw nothing about characterization in the trailer.

Well we know that they are getting their abilities from the N Zone so... if you are up to date to this film then the trailer doesnt have to show that to you right? and its the teaser trailer..Not that surprising that it didnt show or tell much about the story similar to the first trailer for Dofp, AOU and Ant Man.

Bottom line is the film is highly inspired by UFF according to the reports and UFF is still FF which makes the film an adaptation of the Fantastic Four. If it doesnt look like FF or Uff to you just because you are only aware of the teaser trailer....well good thing that it will not be the final trailer for the film.

The Ultimate Fantastic Four does not have:

A blogger Doom named Domashev

A 12 year old Reed

A black Johnny

An adopted Sue

A malnourished tiny Ben Grimm

A black Franklin Storm

A Baxter Institute instead of a Baxter building,

Containment suits instead of costumes

A "grounded and gritty" feel.

The onlt thing they take from the UFF is a vague nod to the origin. NOTHING else in this is in ANY version of the FF. Trank even told Mara to stay away from any of the comics because it had nothing to do with them.

I do have a question for tou though, psylocollossu. Why do you have such a personal stake in this film succeeding? Do you have a family member that worked on it or what? The people against it have been getting screwed by filmmakers ruining the F4 on film for 20 years so I can understand the anger but you act like your greatest dream in life is to see a Fantastic Four franchise that has nothing but a titular relation to the source material that must be made by Fox. I don't get it.

It's a classic case of Fox supporters moving the goal post once again. Dark Raven's original post about the blatant flip flopping hit the nail on the head.

There are also just as many reports about the film being a mess, are we going to ignore those but only trust the reports you just mentioned?

You're taking my quote out of context. I pointed out that the trailer didn't accomplish what it set out to do.

You also quoted me.
(Sigh)
I was co-signing/agreeing with you're post in response to "psylockolussus", it's not often that you're on the same page as Willie Lumpkin. Shocking I know but I wasn't trying to condemn you this time.

By default you're making me regret it.

You are just making **** up now.

The trailers for Ant-Man and Age of Ultron showed CONSIDERABLY more story than FantFourstic. Ant-Man especially.

lol, I'm just used to you randomly contradicting everything I say.

Ant-Man showed off more than Age of Ultron? Seriously?

Let's put it this way. I'm staying far away from the Age of Ultron boards because I know that I'll like that film and I want to avoid spoilers. It's like pizza, you don't know how much you're going to like it but you know that you're going to like it so it's not worth talking about since everyone around you also likes pizza and you don't want to be spoiled on what toppings get put on it.

Ant-Man on the other hand looks kind of, "meh" from the trailer. It just looked sort of generic. Adam Mckay is a great writer though but I already lost interest upon hearing that Scott Lang would be the lead and Hank Pym would be made into an old man since I've never cared about Scott at all so I really don't care how it turns out.

FF.. the trailer deconfirmed my worst fears but didn't show enough for me. I'm anticipating this the most because I have no idea how it'll be. This may be the best film of the year or 2015's 10 Rules for Sleeping Around (a film so bad that it got the coveted 1/100 rating on Metacritic and was ignored by the Razzies because it was just that unwatchable).

He was referring to "psylockolussus"!
And it was regarding 4stic not AOU.

Why are you so gun ho today.....

Bottom line is the film is highly inspired by UFF
They sure work very hard to hide anything that shows that.
on the other hand Star Wars was 'highly inspired' by The Hidden Fortress, still I wouldn't call it an adaptation.

Well he didn't say it was exactly like UFF. All comic book movies change things. And Ben isn't malnourished or tiny he's just not huge

Trank even told Mara to stay away from any of the comics.

So? Gunn said the same to Pratt

The people against it have been getting screwed by filmmakers ruining the F4 on film for 20 years so I can understand the anger

Fox made approximately 4 hours of FF. That's it. If they hadn't made the movies there'd have been no FF movies so they didn't take anything away. It's not like those movies in any way changed the comics or anything

but where does one draw the line? when go changes too far? when nothing is left of the source material except the names of the characters (in Dooms case not even that), how can honestly still be said that it still resembles the books?

I'm just leaving this very slightly tweaked Wikipedia entry on UFF here. Now, tell me OBJECTIVELY if the movie doesn't sound like UFF.

"The story revolves around the adventures of Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and siblings Susan and Johnny Storm, who get engulfed in a malfunctioned teleporter experiment and get super powers: Reed can stretch, Susan projects force fields and makes herself invisible, Johnny becomes a human torch and Ben is a super strong stone giant. The story takes place in contemporary New York.

Reed Richards is a child prodigy, protected by his friend Ben Grimm from bullies, and a genius who had invented a method of teleportation in his youth. He is discovered by government official Willie Lumpkin, and subsequently recruited into a child prodigy think tank/school located in the upper floors of the Baxter Institute. There he meets Professor Storm, who leads the project, and his children, bioengineer Susan Storm and her younger brother Johnny. Reed also becomes the rival of Victor Domaschev, a fellow student. When Reed becomes 21, he plans to teleport themselves into a parallel universe (the "N-Zone"), but Domaschev claims Reed's calculations are wrong and changes the setup at the last minute. The five students get teleported through the N-Zone, and when they rematerialize, they return heavily mutated."

The Fantastic Four trailer revealed a lot actually if you know what your looking at

In terms of story? Yes.

And Ben isn't malnourished or tiny he's just not huge

Which means he's ****ing tiny. Jesus.

No. From what I heard Gunn told them to stay away from SPECIFIC RUNS of the comic because Gunn had a run in mind that he wanted to emulate.

Stop making crap up.

First off, that description has several flaws including the glaring error that it's Victor Van Damm, not Domaschev. But even if the article was more accurate, we still see glaring differences between UFF and the trailer. In fact, I can't match a single UFF panel with any scenes in the trailer.

Guys lets keep the discussion to that of the trailer, and not personal quirks or a poster.
