Something I enjoy doing before a film comes out is imagining the kinds of things critics will say about it. So I come up with little blurbs that you would see on Rotten Tomatoes once the reviews start coming in. For example, a blurb I would hope to see:

"Hugely entertaining, but with enough genuine character moments to make it something even more."

Obviously that's quite generic, but you get the idea. Or how about a blurb that I fear seeing:

"A comic book movie is only as strong as it's villain, and while Jamie Foxx may be seen as inspired casting, his character arc is hopelessly clichéd and the performance borderline campy."

That sort of thing. Now it's your turn. Write a blurb you hope to see, and one you fear seeing. I look forward to what you come up with. And yes I realize we're a long, long way from the film being released, but it'll be a lot of fun to revisit these predictions once we actually do get reviews. (Hopefully my first thread meets with your approval :woot:.)

I think you could be predicting the future with this one.

Just giving you props man, lol.

Now here's a question: Would you ever give props to a positive comment? Haha. Just checking. I would love to see you post both a negative AND positive blurb.

"Amazing Spiderman 2 was best Spiderman movie ever, but it felt something was missing again". Did movie could did better, the answer is maybe. But the spiderman fans still hold the grudge over Marc Webb for not introducing iconic Mary Jane in this movie. We would all love to see iconic scene, "face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot"

:awesome:

I need a trailer, multiple trailers. I wouldn't be good at this anyway because I thought MoS was gonna get an 80+ on RT and that didn't exactly happen.

You could view it as less of a prediction and more in the vein of "I hope to hear this about the movie," or "I hope I don't hear this."

I hope it's great, lol. I hope the mega ton of villains doesn't kill it.

When I have something positive to say about TAS-M, I have said it. The cast, the suit and the high school battle, I adored. Everything else though, I didn't. Hence why the negative outweighs the positive, haha.

I can't say any more about what positivity reviewers could say about TAS-M 2 because the script could go either way and it's already taken away something I was a fan of(the first film's suit).

"Amazing Spiderman 2 was best Spiderman movie ever, but it felt something was missing again".

Did this guy review TAS-M 2?

Honestly, from everything I've seen I dont know that I see it becoming an iconic superhero movie, critically. I think it looks to be an improvement over TASM, but I don't see it being better than Spider-Man 2, which so far is the best Spider-Man movie. It just looks so goofy from everything we've seen so far. Although, with effects and everything added, it could be a suprise hit.

Looking at Man of Steel, I just don't know about critics anymore.

The critics got it right as far as I'm concerned. In general, I find the Tomatometer fairly indicative of a movie's quality. Not always, but for the most part it's pretty accurate.

Yah....I'm gonna have to say the critics were way, way, way, way, way, way, way off.

Its difficult to predict the critics response, and more often than not you will end up disappointed

Also I trust those on RT,most of the people bashing them have had a movie in the rotten

Its not a single guy, they are 250 odd people. They arent a team either, they individually rate the movie and their reviews have nothing to do with each other. They dont have a personal vendetta against anyone so I dont see why they should be trusted

MoS critics rating was right where it should be. The critics generally care more about writing, dialouge, and humor more than CGI/punching.

Yes, that's exactly why the Avengers is at 94%.

Yes, that's exactly why the Avengers is at 94%.

The Avengers is well written,it has plenty of Heart and Humour
It never forgets the humanity of the superheroes

I didnt like that movie as much as other people did but the critics were right, that movie is near flawless

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2 keeps the distinct essence it had from the first film, while also adding the fun, charm from Spider-Man 2. The people in suits over at Sony, as well as Marc Webb and co., hit the nail on the head with this one."

I hope. :D

I don't see why ASM2 wouldnt do better than its predecessor critically. No one will be saying "too soon for a reboot" this time around. Far fewer people should be comparing Andrew to Tobey this time around. Considering no one should have compared them the first time around. Just like Reeve and Cavill, no one should compare characters from two completely separate series when writing a legitimate film review.

Plus there's no reason to assume Webb/Garfield/Stone will get any worse at what they've done so far. In fact, I would be under the assumption that they can only improve.

I'd hope that all this could lead to a higher score than 7.1 (IMDB) and 73% (RT). But then again, IDGAF. Particularly on the latter, because [see sig].

Meh, MOS is at 8.1 on IMDB, 8.3 user score on Metacritic and 82% audience approval on RT, obviously there is a big disconnect between critics and the audience on this one.

I expect reviews to be better for ASM 2 than ASM, exactly for the reasons pr0xyt0xin listed above.
