This thread is your for worst fears about BvS whether rational or not.

1. That we get the best Batman ever, but the movie is terrible and Affleck gets blamed for it.

2) That the dead robin is Dick.

The movie is another divisive one and we have to hear the same complaints until Justice League comes out.

That the 3rd act devolves into more mind-numbing destruction porn and Batman feels out of place in the midst of all of that.

Hmm... I guess probably that Snyder tries to do too much in one film. If that happens, I think it will be because the studio is worried that they're playing "catch up" with Marvel.

For example, for BvS I want to see just a great epic conflict between Bats and Supes, with Wondy joining to help bring the two together... and the trinity is formed. If they fight only Doomsday (my God, we're talking about Doomsday, that's plenty!) at the end I'll be a very happy man. It'll actually also be fine with me if Lex joins the fray with his infamous battle suit, btw. But if not that's fine too.

But I do not want to see the entire JL assembled for some kind of gloriously gonzo final battle a la the Avengers. I mean, if it does go that way and they manage to pull it off, great. But I'd rather see a story that focuses on the conflict between Batman and Superman as establishing the groundwork for why the JL is absolutely needed, and then its birth via the trinity. I'd love a Watchmen style montage for the closing credits giving us glimpses of the JL to come (and hopefully a couple glimpses of the JSA from the previous century, as well). Please let the JL grow from the trinity in JL Part 1.

So again, for me, if what we get instead is the full JL assembled by the end of the film, that is something I could see turning out as a horrible blunder. I know some fans would love to see that... and if it comes to pass it could work if masterfully executed... but it is the opposite of what I'm hoping for.

I am very pleased with what I have seen so far but I still have that niggling doubt that Superman is gonna be made to look bad at some point at the expense of Batman. Quite frankly I'm tired of seeing writers do that sort of thing. It's not that I'm bothere if Batman does something that makes him right opposed to Superman it's just I hate when they make Supes out to be a dumbass for him.

I don't really have any fears. At this point it is what it is, either this film delivers, or it doesn't. If it does, I'll be pleasantly surprised. If it doesn't, I still have the Nolan trilogy, Batman films will continue to happen regardless, and I've already stopped expecting to love a 21st Century version of cinematic Superman.

My biggest fear is again having to explain the creative direction and intent to the Marvel fanboys I know who are too narrow minded to enjoy both cinematic experiences like me. I loved MoS and I can understand why some people didn't, but it drives me crazy when I hear people bash it for 1. Superman killing Zod and 2. The level of destruction. Both make complete sense within the context. And half the time people bash on the film their reasoning is based around "well Marvel blah blah blah".

I worry that BvS will continue last year's trend of disappointing blockbusters that put fan service and action before story and then, like last year, it will be praised by critics and fans. Honestly, I feel it's more likely, though, that I will dig the movie and it will get lambasted by critics and fanboys. Lately, I have been at odds with the general consensus on these movies.

I honestly do not have any fear really on this film. My ONLY reservation that the path towards the justice league is just that and we haven't a fully assembled roster by the end and some is held back for the actual JL films.

I'm oddly OKAY with Batman feeling out of place. He's a human in the midst of metas, and has time to grow to be the "cool JLA Batman" in the sequel.

that the hatred for DC and Zack Snyder will predetermine what people think of this movie

The film feels lacking in Superman's characterization, and that all the DCEU set up feels so obviously tacked on, thus the film doesn't flow.

^ I know 100 percent, that if Zack were to make a nearly universally well-received CBM, haters would give all the praise to Terrio.

As if good screenwriters aren't the reason that other, more prestigious directors are able to make great movies.

If this film manages to portray that as a struggle for him, then it could work. It's very tricky to pull off though, in a way that will be believable for the GA and not just the fanboys. Like the entire movie, in a sense.

I'm assuming that BFG he's holding at the end of the trailer will come into play in the finale though.

That the film ends on a downer note. I want to come out of this film FIST PUMPING and excited for Justice League. I dont mind Snyder going for a deeper more emotional climax but i do not wanna leave the theater feeling depressed.

At the end of the day, films are a collaborative process. Not one person can take the praise or blame of a film's performance. Anyway, it will be interesting how people respond to Snyder if BvS is well received. Before TFA, JJ Abrams was a similarly divisive director amongst geekdom, and after that film's success, I see more praise lauded at him over Kasdan (who like Terrio had a hand in writing great films).

^ I think the difference is that Star Trek 09 and MI3 weren't particularly divisive films.

Thus, I think people "forgot" that JJ could make "good" films, and then "remembered" when Star Wars came out.

Whereas Zack Snyder hasn't made a non-divisive film in ten years.

Batman and Wonder Woman romance.

I don't mind occasional quips and flirts. But if they go outta the way to make it a subplot, I'd be so mad.
