iz verry nice
Yes, let's get a complete white guy to play the title role in PRINCE OF PERSIA.
Having been a huge fan of the first game, this production artwork (real or not) certainly captures the feel of the series. I sure as hell hope this is a big-scale film, and with Bruckheimer being attached...I'm confident it will. This has potential to be a huge summer flick.
Dude i love this game and thought as i played it "This would be an amazing Movie!" So yeah im pysched. Consider me on the POP bandwagon!
This movie will be even better than Pirates of the Caribbean
I hope they get a good screenwriter, director, and cast.
the creator is the Screenwriter.... the others things... we shall see.
I wouldn't mind that girl as Farah.
Actually, he's not completely white.
He has Lebanese, Syrian, and African heritage, amongst other things.
And he still looks white, lol. He looks nothing like the character, nor does he even remotely resemble the race they're going for.
Don't get me wrong, I like him just fine in Prison Break...but he's completely wrong for this role.
Since Farah's Indian, I'd prefer someone like Bipasha Basu or even Lisa Ray to play Farah
I can't think of any Arabic or Turkish actor that looks like him.
And If anyone says Naveen Andrews, you're just blind as hell.
IMDB posters are just randomly casting white dudes for the role, to which I calmly responded:
Yes, we know makeup and what not can wonders, but if you are a fan of the game, a middle eastern actor is the only obvious choice. I want accuracy in my characters, and the Prince's background is an important factor, and people will know it's just a white guy in some brownface attempting to play a Persian.
i remember many Indians, including myself, were pissed off at the casting of Mowgli in the live action version of "The Jungle Book"
Prepare to be pissed again gentlemen
I prefer Lisa Ray, honestly, I think she's way prettier.
what about Indira Varma?
i'm not sure...whenever i see her picture, she looks full of herself....i haven't seen her in "Rome", but I've seen her in other films and that shortlived show about brain surgeons..she doesn't really fit the role of Farah
Lisa Ray definitely has more range than Bipasha, but I wouldn't mind at all if Bipasha got it..she can move
The best chance of getting an Indian actress in the lead role is Ashiywara Ra(sp)outside that i expect the Prince to be a white actor with dark looks like Colin Farrel or someone like that.
I really hope Aishwariya Rai doesn't. She's an overrated actress. Her claim to stardom is the whole "she's the most beautiful woman in the world". She was good in "Devdas", I'll give her that. The rest of her roles leave alot to be desired.
still, better than Orlando Bloom.
I have no idea what her acting is like but she has some mainstream fame and that whole supposed worlds most beautiful woman tag which is good for a spot of the old marketing.
Farrah is one of my favorite characters, EVER! In Sands of Time, she has some great lines, a snarky attitude, and a take no prisoners kinda thing going on. She would need an actress who doesn't come off as a damsel in distress even though she may be.
Anyone know of any tough but annoyingly beautiful Indian actress who are fluent in English?
yeah, much as I'd like to see Sendhil Ramamurty or a good unknown get the part, I highly doubt it'll happen.
to fill that description....an unconventional choice would be Genelia D'Souza
she's from the UK...but stars in alot of Indian films
come on guys, those look like good choices, but let's get real: it's Jerry Bruckheimer. they're going Hollywood with the cast, wether we like it or not.
