Problem with my C drive

Hopefully someone can suggest a solution for me.

I have Windows 7 and I tried to install a game. I had some trouble with extraction process so I tried it again and then a third time. I then noticed the amount of memory for the drive had dropped significantly (around 12GB). When I retraced my steps I looked through the file path for the install and saw the games install files in the Program File listed three times.

I went into the Program Files and tried to delete the files so I could start from scratch but they were not there. I could view it from the F drive (cd drive) but not the C drive. Really weird....

I changed the folder options to make hidden folders visible but that didn't work. I also tried disc cleanup and defrag. Nothing was visible in add/remove programs. I'm out of ideas. The only thing I haven't tried was System Restore.

If anyone has a suggestion I would really appreciate the input!

did you go to the games folder and see if its there? its in the start menu

It's not there, just the standard ones (Solitaire, Freecell, Hearts, ect).

List all the folders in program files into date order and see what is the latest to be installed?

I would just do a system restore and be done with it, hopefully you get your space back and start again

I see the file in program files when I'm doing an install, but its not there when I go through the path my computer/c drive/program files.

This is freakin weird. I did the system restore and it didn't change a thing. I still get the feeling I'm missing memory. There's no way I'm reformatting this fu**er....

Look for it in "add or remove" in the control panel......if not then do a search...if still no good then there are some software that gets rid of windows files..some are free some aren't...gl
