For some reason my computer is being sluggish. When I click "turn off computer," an hourglass appears for about five minutes before the option window opens with "log off," "restart," and "shut down." It all started happening about a week ago. The only thing I can trace it back to is that I installed Firefox last week because I was having problems accessing an automotive forum with IE7. Once it started happening, I removed Firefox but the problem hasn't been solved.

Any tech-smart Hypesters know how to help me? I'd appreciate it. :csad:

Try defragging your machine. You obviously have something lagging your computer in your start menu or something that is running in the background. You can check these in Windows Defender by clicking on Start Up Programs.

I would be willing to bet you have some sort of processing, crapping out on the kill command from the PC.

I don't know if it'll work, but you could try resetting your comp to a certain date where you didn't have the problem.

I haven't been able to fix it yet, and this morning when I got up and turned on my computer, my screen went black and when it came back I got this message: "VPU recover has reset your graphics accelerator."

This is getting annoying.

When was the last time you cleaned out your computer?
