so i was just told yesterday by my friends that they decided they are not gonna go to prom and are gonna have a party instead. now i dont want to go because my friends arnt going. i told my date (a junior) and she is not to happy about. i mean shes being nice and all saying this is my prom but she is going to be bummed and i dont want to look like an a-hole. now i dont know how im gonna get their and i really dont want to hang with her friends because i dont know them that well. what the hell should i do? its next saturday btw

Going to prom is more of a high school experience thing, something you can say you did. It's not the end of the world if you don't go (though it's a dick thing to do to your date), but I'd advise going, for the sake of it. At the very least, you can see how ridiculous all the people you don't like at your school look in nice clothes.

Secondly proms end at what 12? You can always leave the prom early and go to your friend's party. Isn't everything already paid for? You'd be wasting money by not going.

1) She got a dress already. It'd be an ******* thing to do to drop her now.

2) Lots of girls your age will be there all prettied up...it's not like there'll be nothing to look at there.

3) Parties happen all the time. Prom, though definitely event they make it look in movies, is only twice in a lifetime.

Really, its not as bad you think. Prom is one of those things that might not seem like a big deal you might end up regretting not going later. Go, show up, if you hate it take your date to your friends party.
