Prometheus - Part 6

It has to be more than one review, seeing as how it was at 90/100 the other day. If only two reviews had been submitted at this point, then the second reviewer gave it a 20/100.

It has to be more than two. A 20/100 is just... Damn.
I sincerely hope this isn't the bust/disappointment of the summer. There's always one of those every year. A movie that everyone is looking forward to and shows a ton of promise only to be forgettable, mediocre or terrible.

Nothing I've seen has even given that indication though. So I guess we'll find out soon enough.

It looks like Ridley put his heart and his soul into this. And if this movie does suck, then it shows that Ridley's best days are behind him..

I just can't conceive that this would be critically panned. I guess the concept it's about could be polarizing, i bet we get some small minded ignorant idiots who are like "this whole concept is just stupid, like ancient aliens" or religious zealots.

But i mean, i honestly just cannot conceive that the production design, acting and all round execution would be bad.

I agree. There's no way this will be bad. I just don't see how it's possible

It's obvious those reviewers were ****faced when they saw the film :o

We don't know how many reviews they've counted. I was just saying that even if it's one review I find the score to be lower than I expected seeing as this is Ridley Scotts return to the genre.

A return to the genre does not guarantee success, even if we're talking about a man who mastered it 30 years ago. Then there's the unfortunate reality that RS hasn't been in the best of form over the past decade.

The visuals, as usual for an RS film, won't let this film down. But I've said before that I'm concerned about the guys behind the script and if anything makes this film fail, it will be those 2 guys.

It's still early days though, and I'm still immensely looking forward to this.

If this film really is a disappointment, I may go to the nearby food court and begin flipping tables.

It depends on the reasons that critics would be giving, if it's because it's too graphic and gory, then they should just grow a set of balls or go watch an Amanda Sydfried film or whatever the hell her name is.

But I doubt that this would be the reason.

I admit that the script has been a point of concern for me.

Maybe there could be too much stuff going on. Or maybe, like with Danny Boyle's Sunshine critics won't like it's shift from existential film about the human condition, into a horror film in the last act.

But to that i say, it's ****ing Alien, *******.

The dialogue admittedly does seem a bit flimsy. Nothing a good performance can't overcome though.

Ohh the Holloway character. Ehh i dunno, seems alright. Bit exposition heavy, it's like his just saying what the plot dictates he has to say from the clips and trailers.

He's probably a good character for the trailers but we'll see how he works in the film.

I was so disappointed in Sunshine. I hope this isn't a similar experience.

I was disappointed that it didn't feature some solar powered alien :o
