Prometheus - Part 6

I've had to tell a few that it was related, but when they ask how I just kind of earnestly shrug at them.

A work friend of mine is pretty excited about the whole "creators of earth" angle, he's a firm believer in the idea that aliens built the pyramids.
Another mate of mine loved Blade Runner so that's really all the insentive he needs to go see it.
I think the horror aspect is the biggest draw from what I've heard from people though.

Do you think by not openly stating that it's part of the Alien franchise they're missing out on would be ticket sales?

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

You've been warned.

the hell is it?

This is one of the most annoying ad campaigns I can remember.

Same here. That first full trailer was mind blowing, and the rest have been damn near close. The posters have been great, and so have the TV spots. I don't see what there is to be annoyed about.

It's the space jockey sitting in his seat, the suit will then form over him i'd imagine.

I no longer need to see the movie. TDKR has shown plenty and yet I can't come close to piecing it together. Not even close to the same here.

Everything they show for this film is a massive spoiler. I don't like having to advert my eyes or search for the remote every time a damn TV spot comes on or a trailer starts before a film. I can't think of anything this spoilerfic ever.

I want to see this movie, but this is getting stupid now.

I don't see how anything is spoiled. It's shown us some shocking images, but how they all piece together? What the big picture is? That's still very much under wraps.

The TDKR trailer has shown that Bane defeats Batman, with him throwing away his broken mask. How is that any smaller of a spoiler than what we've seen from this film?

I gotta agree with morning stars post. There are many suprises left and I highly doubt you've seen enough to not warrant seeing the film. This type of hyperbole gets thrown arpund a lot online but most of the time its nonsense. I've seen two TV spots actually on tv and they didn't spoil anything significant. There has only been one that shows something significant and that was creature design not a plot detail. Anything else that has been spoiled has been at your own volition by going to areas where spoilers for this film are located and analyzed. If you dont want to be spoiled avoid these places. Don't blame the marketing campaign because it by itself has spoiled very little and what very little may have been spoiled is completely out of context. The public marketing campaign has done a good job of not spoiling this film. You have to remember that we internet forum people follow movies from day one sso uber obscure things in the marketing seem like large spoilers to us because we know mpre of the context and that they are spoilers, but to the average television watching casual movie going laymen these obscure spoilers mean nothing until they see the film. This marketing campaign may spoil stuff for us but I guarantee to the average non forum type it hasn't spoiled nearly as much as you think. Point being films don't need to be marketed at all really to people like us and it isn't designed for people like us. Its designed for people who do not keep up with film news on a daily basis. People that are clueless enough that spoilers usually bounce over their heads. We on the other hand analyze these images and clips so we see every spoiler there is. This isn't a fault of the marketing. It is a fault we made by over analyzing and knowing more than we really need to know.

I've watched most of the stuff and I'm still curious what's going to happen. I've seen images of things, but what order and how they impact each other and the plot is still pretty much anyone's guess. I do know you like a good moan though, sweetheart, so get it all out of your system. :o

I've seen every "spoiler" and I still have no damned idea what's happening in this movie. Every thing I've seen has just heightened my anticipation tenfold. I love the marketing of this film. It's keeping me hooked.

Yea, the Happy Birthday David one is just brilliant. They all are but that's my favourite. The level of creativity, imagination and acting quality gone into those virals puts some whole movies to shame.

I haven't over-analyzed a thing. I still know that the crew goes to the planet looking for mankind's creators, are somehow mutated and must stop whatever is trying to get off the planet from getting off the planet.

I still know that Bane ****s Batman up, he goes into retirement for 8 years, Bane takes over Gotham, in the end Batman makes a triumphant return and wins.

What's your point?
