Best-selling game The Orange Box, already well received on Xbox 360, is to be released on PlayStation 3 on December 14, EA has confirmed.

After selling in huge quantities in the past few months, the game has been a resounding success, both commercially and critically, and now Electronic Arts is hoping for a surge in sales on PS3 due to its pre-Christmas release.

The Orange Box includes Half-Life 2, its two expansion packs Episode One and Episode Two, as well as puzzler Portal and the multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2.

Haven't played them yet, our computer is sucky.

The best thing about this is Half Life 2 is so old that the PS3 version couldn't possibly be inferior to it this time...

Jinx. :(

Lol, poor Electro, little do you know that they went and updated Half Life 2 with all the new stuff the engine can do, and redit a lot of the assets. Plus the PS3 version was done internally by EA, of course it can be inferior.

Curse you and your bad news woman! :cmad:

So that's who mister Squiggly lines is.

Anyway, Source is like built around traditional architecture, so the PS3 version having some issues, or performing a bit worse than the 360 version is practically garanteed. That being said, it's still probably going to look a lot beter than my old PC, and you can use the Freag FX controller, instead of having to use either the 360 or PS2 shoehorned in controllers that weren't meant to be played with the game.

Guh, such a shame. :(

Still, this and Uncharted make for one HECK of a Christmas.

Even if Half Life sucked..Portal and TF2 would be reason enough to buy The Orange Box

Nope, the name sucks.

Who thinks I should change my name to Mr. Zurkon?

Portal is really fun. It canbe frustrating at times but very interesting gameplay

Nice, this will be good for me as I still haven't played HL2, considering my stupid X-Box is about to give out. But yeah, looking forward to this...
