Ps3's hits from MS's talk.

So the MS conference just ended. PS3 took a few punches, let's take a look.

- FF13 heading to 360.

- 360 exclusive Fallout 3 DLC

- 360 exclusive Portal expansion

- LIPS a ripped off, but better version of Singstar

- SceneIt beats Buzz in the movie section

All in all, not too much damage done if you ask me. But I'm not an FF fan so...

I don't think the other things are that big of blows, the only major one is FFXIII going multi-console.

It won't destroy Sony though, since it will still help sell bucketloads of PS3s.

Agreed. It won't have a huge impact as far as Hardware is concerned.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the new Live features. They are near identical to what Home will feature, so I wonder if this will pressure Sony to release it before MS's fall update.

I agree actually, I'm looking forward to what Sony and Nintendo pull out of their coats tomorrow, since either way all three should have a fantastic E3.

I don't think there will be a clear cut leader at E3 this year, in my opinion.

Mgs 4 would have been a huge blow. If FF13 was Xbox exclusive that would be a huge blow. This hurts , but as bad as some are making it out to be. It could have been way more worse for Sony.

FFXIII was the only reason I was even considering a ps3

The 360 still has a fairly sizeable lead in terms of quality software

It wouldn't surprise me if this causes at least a fair few FF fans who were holding out for it's release before getting a ps3 to take the plunge with a 360 now...

I dunno. I don't think many FF fans will move to the 360 on the basis that the 360 can't play FF I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII, Tactics, and Dirge of Cerberus.

Still this is a huge blow to the PS3.

In order to play any of those you'll need a ps2

The PS3 still has backwards compatibility. All PS3 models have backwards compatibility with PS1 games, and all PS3 models except for the 40GB one are backwards compatible with PS2 games.

As a matter in fact I've played FF XII on my PS3 which I bought just last month.

Yeah, if you'd have asked me to give away a PS3 exclusive, it probably would have been this.

And I'm not just saying it cause it's going, I'm saying it cause I'm looking forward to Resistance 2, MotorStorm 2, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2, Infamous, heck even Gran Turismo 5 and Uncharted and Ratchet sequals more than this.

I'm interested to see what Sony has to offer, as a new PS3 owner im excited to see whats coming to the system. I thought MS's conference was great as a company is concerned. They clearly want to bite into Nintendo's lead with this casual market and thats the right move. This gen will be decided by who has the bigger casual market, as much as i hate that.

Yes, but there are people who do own 20GB and 60GB models. When you add it all up, there are more people who own a PS3 that is backwards compatible than those who own a PS3 that isn't.

Also I'm in europe (england) and the only sku available here is the 40gb

It sucks for PS3 users that the FF XIII is coming to the 360, not bc I care that it ends up on that system, but it means that we will have to wait even longer for the game now since its been in development for the PS3 for so long and now they have to port it over to the 360 for a simultaneous US release. Hopefully that doesnt take too long

did you ever think that MAYBE square knew about this for a while and were keeping it under wraps for maximum effect. That might explain why it's taking so long to develop...

Nope, they haven't even started on the 360 port and won't until the PS3 version is finished and released in Japan.
