Ps3's hits from MS's talk.

did you ever think that MAYBE square knew about this for a while and were keeping it under wraps for maximum effect. That might explain why it's taking so long to develop...
like the last poster just said, this deal with MS is VERY new and work for hte 360 hasnt even begun.

true, but we're talking about it's capacity as a game in terms of shifting hardware. Selling to existing owners is great, but the main purpose of exclusives is to shift hardware. So the point is moot
The point isn't moot because people can still buy a PS3 that is backwards compatible.

Just why the hell would a Final Fantasy fanboy go over to the Xbox 360 when all it can do is play Final Fantasy XI and XIII?

Common sense and logic dictates that when a Final Fantasy fanboy is guaranteed to play I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, Tactics, and Vagrant Story on the PS3 and there is a PS3 model that allows them to play X, X-2, XI, XII, and Kingdom Hearts I and II, they're going to go to the PS3.

In the end, Final Fantasy XIII will end up shifting more PS3 hardware for two reasons:

1. It is still exclusive to the PS3 in Japan and Final Fantasy sells a boatload in Japan. As a matter in fact, the PSP is doing phenominally in Japan thanks to Crisis Core.

2. Final Fantasy fanboys will still go to the PS3 because they can play almost the entire core series plus several related games to the series and Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still a PS3 exclusive.

I dont think the past games so much are what will help keep a FF fan with the PS3 over the 360, more than the fact that VS XIII is still a PS3 exclusive (at least for now). The only way to play through the complete console saga is to own a PS3. You're only going to get one aspect of it with the 360

Nope, this deal is apparently brand new because Sony had no idea that this was going to happen at all (a source said that they had no idea and Tretton even said that he was surprised) and work on the 360 version hasn't even begun yet.

their new dashboard sort of rips off the xmb and the vision camera games were very much like eyetoy stuff aswell, but hey what else are you gonna do with a camera. that's just the way the games industry is.
