A small, yet interesting morsel of news came out way this past weekend as we learned that Charles Band is looking to remake his classic horror film, Puppetmaster, which was released back in 1989 by Full Moon Entertainment. All that is known at this time is that he's hoping to shoot it in 3-D. In the original, for no apparent reason, an aged puppetmaster carefully packs away the marionettes of his craft and shoots himself. Those who come to mourn, or defile, his passing little suspect the final performance that's been planned. The Beloved creations left behind have a little life in them and they're not playing for laughs. They may be small, but their appetite for murder is MONSTROUS! Who's pulling the strings?

Another "classic" being remade? Well at least this is a film that actually 'NEEDS' the remake treatment. The original was flawed on many levels from plot, story, acting, and effects. I love the PuppetMaster series, but for reasons due to that idea of little puppets being alive and killing for their crazed master. The puppets themselves were fantastic, but horribly presented effects wise. But you can't blame them for looking bad, the budget on that film was amazingly low and they really got as much out of the buck as they could.
Seeing that Charles Band is wanting this done tells you that he cares about this little feature called PuppetMaster and wants to see it done better and with more care than originaly crafted. Here's a little known cult classic that is in need of new blood and life, along with new strings and puppets.
Hopefully this thing gets going and we see PuppetMaster rise to the great potential it never recieved. AND IN 3-D NO LESS!!!!!!! COME ON, AWESOME!!!
