of course, we all expect to have a better film this time around, but aside from that, specifically speaking, what do you guys expect from the film?

i expect lots of hand-to-hand combats, (which is really more brutal and punishing than shooting easily those baddies)
similar to bourne identity or some similar to steven segal-action

plus, i expect a more 'in-depth' narration of his story, something like christian bale's batman begins

i really hope we see lots and lots of action with the skull on ray's chest (in costume, so to speak) some thing that has not happen much, in either of the previous two movies...... because then to me, it is a punisher movie, and not some attempt at one.

like even in the last one, jane had about fifteen minutes of the whole movie wearing the skull!!!! not enough for ****s sake!!!

and the first had **** all.................

so yes!!!! the punisher looking like punisher (as ray stevenson looks the MAX punisher) would be great........:woot:

i also expect some smartass wisecrack/one-liner/tough-talking dialogues in the actors

some black dirty humor :woot:

I expect just a decent punisher film. More action than the previous movie, more hand to hand from Frank to show he can do more than just shoot people, and I'd like some great one liners. Nothing too over the top, but they fit into the context of what's happening in the story at the time it's delivered. Plus more skull, it's all about the skull.

I wish I would have known about this thread, otherwise I wouldn't have made this one.

Since it's been closed.

I've been reading up on this movie's history, more and more I get the feeling we would have been better off that the movie not have been made. This has nothing to do with Jane's leaving, I've moved on from that, but that was the catalyst that got me to start worrying about this movie. These are some of the facts I've come across.

A bad script, the budget being cut in half and then there's Lions Gate stupidly not wanting to hire Walter Hill to write and direct, which led to Jane leaving.

Then John Dahl was in talks to do it, but decided not to because the script was still bad and shooting schedule sucked on top of a small budget.

That led to Lexi Alexander being hired, a director who's only movie up to this point was not that good, but I was still willing to give it a shot. Then I read a version of the script and it was bad, and then the teaser comes online and it looks pretty bad and did nothing to get me excited for this movie except for like 2 or 3 shots from it.

It's just not looking good.

Kind of expecting something like Jet Li and Jason Stratham (or however you spell his name!)'s 'War'. Not that that's a good thing.

Hopefully there will be good dialogue, good acting and good action. There's some good actors in there, even if they aren't A-listers. I'm looking forward, most of all, to seeing something different from the last offering. Obviously there are a good number of people around here that support it, but I'd really like a fresh take, not for the franchise to limp on pathetically with Jane at the helm.

The cast is good, that's about the only praise I can really muster for it, well and the teaser posters are pretty cool.

Then again, the prequels have taught me good actors aren't **** if the director can't get a good performance from them. And Hooligans was about half and half in regards to performances.

but I'd really like a fresh take, not for the franchise to limp on pathetically with Jane at the helm.

I think that's a bit much to say, he has been quoted as saying he wanted to take the character in a more meaner/darker noir-action place.

I expect it to not look like its DTV. So far it looks dtv.

Maybe, but he isn't Marlon Brando. There are other actors out there that can do what he can AND take it to a darker/meaner level. It's not like he's the only person that can play Punisher, and he certainly didn't do an iconic job where he HAS to come back. He's the George Lazanbey or Val Kilmer of Punisher movies.

Direct to video??? Nooo chance. Maybe it'll look DTV quality, but it's gonna make it to theatres.

It was really more the "limp on pathetically" part. As he was saying he wanted to fix the problems with the last movie, I think Lions Gate was just in the business of making the movie, not making the right movie.

That could very well be true, but I feel, as do the vast majority of critics, that Jane was a big part of the problem with the movie. It wasn't a very good movie and Jane's portrayal wasn't helping it. He's a good actor, but not a good Punisher.

Of course, there are those that disagree. I don't think the mainstream would though, and they won't care that Jane isn't back. The problem will be getting PWZ to the mainstream so that they can sample the new offering.

Really? Because most of the stuff I read, said that Jane's performance was not one of the problems that the movie. There is stuff that says otherwise too, but the majority was very positive toward Jane.

Though how was he not a good Punisher? He was a depressed alcoholic, but that's how he was portrayed in Year One. And then when the Saint Assault happens, he had that cold demeanor, he walks by an injured guy and kills him without even looking. Also, in the extended cut, where he forces his ex partner to commit suicide.

Needless to say I dont expect much out of this movie...except for wooden acting and over the top action scenes that would make Shoot Em Up proud...I saw the trailer attached to Wanted in the theaters...and I literally heard people laughing after it was over...One dude shouted "give me a break"... I hope im wrong about it being bad but its not looking too good.

yeah lots of tough one liners. the ones that make your crotch grow two sizes when you hear them

More action, hand to hand fighting and lots of Frank shooting and killing people.Hopefully, they gave him good one liners.
