I've watched videos on Youtube of various people approaching or getting in the way of a Queen's guard member and getting essentially runover or have a gun aimed at them if they're in their way or too close to an area they don't want them to be.

I watched a street sketch of someone pretending to be a queen's gaurd and getting messed with by one of their freinds here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv007iMWRMY

This had me wondering, how many fatalities have there been from people who've gone too far? The video above was make believe but the following link features some real encounters that have happened:

Not sure on legality in UK of assault in those instances however the Queens Guard @ any of the Royal Residences are serving members of the UK Defence Force and do have martial powers as far as they guard duties.

Impeding them could mean more of a criminal matter for the party in the way of the Solider/s.

Soliders you see @ Buckingham Palace and the like have live rounds in their rifles and the fixed bayonets are sharp as they are not there solely for appearances.

The 2nd video I linked to above are encounters on the street with normal people sometimes either getting walked into, pushed if walking along side them, or get a bayonet stuck in one's face. Not so much outraged as I don't live in the UK but just curious if any tourists went too far getting in their way and fatalities reported.

I gotta admit the outfits do seem rather silly looking on first sight and people may ill advisedly try and mess with them. The way they walk reminds me sort of like the character's on the movie Conehead and seems bit humorous at first until the bayonet comes out. Tourists can not always do the smartest things...

Doubful in any contemporary setting that a fatality has occurred but possible of course.

Any individual tourist or not if they were to represent a direct or perceived threat to the buildings being protected by these Guards or a person who was to disobey a direction from any of the Guards or ignore them enough times would likely trigger a Metro Police response (as you see in the photo a Guard and a Police Officer are there with the civilian).

From the UK authoriities perspective a "tourist" is just as easily a "terrorist" so they would likely handle it from a better to be safe than sorry approach.

That makes sense.

I suppose there could be trouble with some tourists not taking the Queens guard senous enough with the formalities, posture, way walk, uniform, and not thinking the Queen would desire to utilize lethal force from her personal guard on the streets in modern times. Just plain 'ol tactical gear would send the message so much easier. The bayonet/gun certainly serve their purpose to send a message for sure though.
