In the movie she rights a whole article about how the world doesn't need Superman. She was bitter he left without saying goodbye or whatever. But, what if he was killed and nobody knew? Maybe, he was kidnapped? She only found out he was away after he came back. Which she could be bitter then. But, not before. :cwink:

(whoops I put this in the wrong forum. My bad)

I dont think she or anyone though of the possibility that he died, I mean, who could kill him? Lex was in jail, and in this unvierse there didnt seem to be any super-powered villains out there, yet anyway.

Also, the seven years thing is weird, because it obviously took less for him as a baby to arrive on earth, and he was aparently flying on he same technology.

I just kind of assumed that the scientists who found out where Krypton was, would have told the world where he'd gone...

Now of course I realise that's silly, cause she didn't seem to know...

And yeah, why not think that he had been killed? After all, he was due to testify against Luthor...

And for that matter, leaving and not telling anyone where you are going is so ridiculously selfish, dangerous, irresponsible...

God that movie makes no sense.

Well it wasn't scientists that found Krypton. It was Luthor plotting a way to get Superman out of the picture for a while so he could start his sick and twisted land scheme. It's spelled out a lot more in the prequel comics, novel and screenplay.
But yes, Superman not telling anyone first off where he was going (except Martha) was a mistake.

But otherwise, the movie makes complete sense :)

It is somewhat odd that Lois made the jump that he left even though there were other possibilities. I wonder what made Lois think he had left and something else hadn't happened instead.
