World Question about spider-man's web

In the spider-man movies, there were time when his web was really thich, almost like a rope, (espscially in the 1st movie) but in some parts, the web was really thin like real spider webs (In the 2nd movie when the webs catch the flipped police car in mid air.) I was wondering if Spider-man can change how thick and how thin his webs are, and if he can make them sticky, or easy to move around in.

I would assume he could control his webs. He can control his web balls then why not the thickness and such.
