Obviously many of the virals are simply games created for our entertainment and to keep the fans excited and involved, but how many things from the viral sites do you think are going to actually be in the movie? Obviously
the gang war, fear toxin, and Batman imitators (Citizens for Batman)
will be plot elements, and people mentioned in the Gotham Times like Maroni, Gambol, Mike Engel, etc., but do you think any viral characters like Roger Garcetti will appear or be mentioned? Are the editorial by Edward Nashton and the advertisement for The Iceberg Lounge just in-jokes or do they have more relevance than that?

Thoughts?

I think that the plot points you mention could use spoiler tags.

Well, form what I know, the iceberg lounge is a real place from the Batman comics. (I'm not an avid reader so I only know from tidbits I pick up)
Its suppose to be some Batman-verse upscale hang out.

What I really what to know is are we ever going to hear from the league of shadows again from BB. Bruce didn't kill all of the members. AS a matter of fact, the only definite death was the leader. I find it hard to believe that a group like that would just roll over and disappear.

If he really was the leader

yea... I question that too. I don't know, it just didn't feel right when that all ended.

And another thing, what about Crane ( or whatever that crazy doctor's name was)? Aren't we still looking for him? Are we to assume that he's still running around in the narrows? Has Batman just conveniently forgotten about them?

In some ways, I agree that over-running batman with the joker, the narrows, the corrupt cops, eventually two-face, the good cops, the mob, and crazy-doctor-dude, is a great way to show the struggle of good against evil, but that seems a bit much for just one movie.

I feel like spoiling something for you, but in your ignorance you will be plum surprised with the secret when you find out on your own.

Nope, just tell me. I haven't been following this from the beginning so I already know that there's stuff I don't know.

Spoilers People! The Virals are suppose to be spoiler free! ... I think. Personally part of what's fun about this game for me is that it keeps me from reading the spoiler thread.

Wrap it up kids! Wrap it in spoiler tags! :cmad:

The way he said it, I thought that he was referring to something that had already happened.

how has there been any spoilers? so far its all mostly been talking about the first movie.

Nope. He was referring to plot points that have been discovered through a variety of means that would answer some of your questions.

I am with you, Shocker, I already know more that I want to... :ninja:

I'm not sure. At first I was going to say that there would be a few passing references to characters or items from the virals, like the HaHaHa Times, or Mob info they got from Notaro, but no major plots continuing in the movie, because then anyone who didn't have the background would be in the dark.

But I guess it all depends on how long ago the virals were laid out. If 42 wasn't invited into the process until they were already shooting the script, would there be enough things for them to draw on and create the virals from? Or was this all planned out long ago? Were Goyer and Nolan involved in scripting the viral?

Basically, I think this is a far more complex question than I first thought.

42E must have gotten some of the film's plot points, because of the reference to Gotham USD District 22 in the IMAX prologue, as well as [blackout]the whole Brian Douglass thing.[/blackout]

I feel pretty confident in saying that Jonathan Nolan has a hand in this. He designed the Memento website, and it's got all sorts of articles and documents and paperwork and the like. It's fun to go through. Plus he showed up to the IMAX prologue screening in NYC. :oldrazz:

I hope TDK doesn't end up like Southland Tales in which you had to have read the prequel books and followed the stuff to understand the movie. I've been following virals but hopefully those that didn't will enjoy it too and there should only be few and small refrences in the actual movie to the stuff we've seen.

I think that it's pretty safe to say that 42 does/will know alot of the plot points of TDK. I also concur that one of the Nolan bros. has to have a hand in this. They are too much of perfectionists not to.
