Superman Returns Question about when Clark whistles taxi

I have a question about the superman returns movie. When Clark whisles the taxi for Lois and a dog can here it. Can Lois hear him whistling a taxi?
I wondered if its a sound only a dog can hear or if Lois can hear. Is it only us watching and the dog that can hear it. That makes sense.It was just the way she looked at him and thanked him for calling one. But that makes no sense at all if she couldn't hear it as its not like he flagged one down for her-like in the way she was trying to flag one down. That's what made me think she meant know or suppect he's Superman. But then i think nah!
How would whistling bring a taxi anyway?
