is the current punisher book any good... anyone can give me a rating. im curious, cuz it was very gritty back in the day, and am wondering if its still any good

jsyk, the marvel stupid question thread is often under the watch of elija, who can answer such questions with ease.

well, since you loved ang lees hulk version, i doubt i would consider your response with respect.

A quality we're all quickly losing for you as well. That was completely unnecessary Cleric,

but to answer your question, and others will chime in, the last 6 years of Punisher have been written brilliantly by Garth Ennis, and has been far more ruthless than any stories from back in the day that you might remember.

an issue where the Punisher is without any weapons and is chased into a Zoo by some mobsters stands out. The Punisher ends up using various animals to dispatch all the goons. Piranhas, Pythons, and Polar Bears, oh my.

i was kidding, like always. shouldnt be taken seriously unless you let it.

really, thanks for the info, one last question. is that in a recent arc(within the year)?

ok, just didn't come off as joking

no, Garth Ennis started writing the book back in 2000, and that story was from issue 4 or 5, I think.

I forget, are you opposed to trades? If not, look for a book called Welcome Back Frank. That's where the Ennis/Dillon run started and where the Punisher got good again

wow, thanks for the reserch...guess you saved me both $ and time

im thinking i should go for the entire series, and continue collecting it. urban charecters have more flare and realism, in my eyes, than high powered charecters. i guess i am falling for brubakers portayal of rogers and murdock. Anyway thanks again

hey, I got no problem helping someone find a comic they'll like

I always get pissed when I hear stories about rude comic shop clerks, or guys who just sit there and watch cartoons and wait for people to come to the counter. I'd rather help people find a book I know interests them and they'll probably be very happy with, so they'll come back for more. The industry needs readers, and the best way to get them and keep them, is to help interested people find the books that they'll enjoy

as soon as you said "urban characters" I was gonna suggest Daredveil

have you read the Bendis/Maleev run yet?

Daredevil and Punisher have a years old fued, and issue three of Welcome Back Frank has probably their nastiest encounter ever

im looking foward to reading it. As for the bendis run, i havent. but one step at a time, i know ill get to it.
