This isn't a bashing thread.

I enjoyed the second season and slowly got hooked unto the first season(the eyes just really seemed to bug me at first, lol), but this series had two great seasons, and even, if short-lived, it did end on a high note by including Spider-Man's last battle in this series against his greatest enemy, The Green Goblin.

So what's your favorite episode/character/line even?

I will start off by saying my favorite episode was "Group Therapy". Most likely the greatest fight scene on an animated series with Black Suit Spider-Man against the Sinister Six.

It's not over yet. TSSM still has a small chance to continue. Here's the proof. I found this on Marvel Animation Age:
"Upon approaching Marvel Animation President Eric Rollman for another statement on The Spectacular Spider-Man, Rollman would only state that The Spectacular Spider-Man is a “Sony production” and it would be up to Sony Pictures Television to pursue the series in the future. Marvel Animation Age approached a representative for Sony Pictures Television who stated there are currently no plans or updates for The Spectacular Spider-Man at this time and production has ceased for the foreseeable future.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment plans to release the DVD title The Spectacular Spider-Man – The Complete Second Season, collecting the final thirteen episodes of the acclaimed animated series, later this year."

What does this mean? It means the show is able to get a third season anytime if Sony wants another season. This means that Spectacular Spider-Man hasn't fully been canceled yet. If we can manage to make this new upcoming cartoon bomb, Spectacular might continue.

Hmm yea i remember that episode. Was good action scene

I like the black cat episode "PERSONA"

It's hard to pick an absolute favorite episode, but I'd have to go with Final Curtain. I hoped this wouldn't be the last, but it went out with a huge bang.

Same for the fights, they were all crafted nicely. The best for me would be the fight with the Green Goblin at the refinery in The Uncertainty Principle.

Ironically, one of my favorite quotes from the show was from the aforementioned fight scene. The part where Gobby says, "We all wear masks, Spider-Man. But which one is real? The one that hides your face, or the one that is your face?" It suits the Goblin to a tee.

Absolutely loved the show, beginning to end. And it's a damn shame that it got cut short before its time.

My favorite episode had to either be "Identity Crisis" (which had a great running theme with the Shakespeare quotes, a nice moment between Peter and Gwen [I was such a sucker for their little romance], and an absolutely badass final showdown between Spidey and Venom), or "Gangland" (which also had a cool theme with the opera, and that rockin' four-way battle between Spidey, Doc Ock, Tombstone, and Silvermane). Really, I can't think of an episode I didn't like.

Edit: correction- the Shakespeare themed episode I'm thinking of was Growing Pains, nor Identity Crisis. Both were still awesome episodes.

RIP the greatest Spidey show ever. I will miss it, and I dont think the new show will match its quality.

My fav episode has got to be "First Steps". The return of Harry and the high school drama was top notch. Also, it showed that Sandman is a good guy at heart, which makes him more likeable. And of course, Eddie Brock's genius plan to stalk Peter in order to get to the symbiote. 5/5

My fav character is Spider-Man/Peter. I think they really nailed him in both of his identities.

My favorite episode is undoubtedly Shear Strength, the adaption of the immortal classic Master Planner storyline. Sheer greatness. I'll never forget seeing that sequence where Spidey is buried under the rubble in Ock's flooding lair. What an iconic image.

And Doc Ock had a coffee mug that said EVIL GENIUS on it :hehe: :otto:

it is very sad that the show is over, i too like many others wished it was continuing. i enjoyed it alot, sure i didnt like a few things, but overall tssm was a great spidey show.

Well, this is the last straw. I am done with Marvel after Iron Man 2. For the following reasons:
Sins Past
One More Day/Brand New Day
The Obama/Spidey fist bump
Hiring Joss Wheadon to write X-Men
Overall poor writing and art
Joe Quesada
The end of Spectacular Spider Man.
So long Marvel, you obviously don't want my moeny anymore.

R.I.P. TSSM. It was an imcredible show, and my favorite show. The greatest animated eries i've ever seen.

Is there any way that we can pull a Family Guy and get this series back?

We can always hope. I think Spectacular had the best take on the symbiote saga.

would be great but probably not likely to happen as much as we fans would love for it to happen. It just sucks the situation the show fell into. As for marvel, and this next show i wish it best of luck.

There isn't a chance in hell that they're bringing back Spectacular, not with a new Ultimate series in the works. Marvel's time and money will be going into promoting and animating the Ultimate series. No one is going to be pumping money into a similar type show like Spectacular Spidey. It has indeed run its course, actually, it was more like a really, really short sprint.

Can anyone make me or direct me towards some Spectacular Spider-man avatars?I'd like to honor the show that way.

No. The dvds sold poorly, the toys sold poorly, and MARVEl/Disney obviously couldn't come to working terms with Sony on what to do. And Disney has already moved on.

If they sold the DVDs in Ireland and England, it might have helped. I'm in Ireland, and have never seen them in ANY store.

I doubt it. They sell Power Rangers season sets in Germany and they sell well enough to have most of the season collected, yet in the US, we get nothing.

SONY could still make the show if they wanted without MARVEL. It just depends on getting a channel to pick it up. I could see Nicktoons getting it since X-men is gone. But production has been down for so long I don't know if SONY wants to go through all that.
