It's deadly...to him."

Anyone else find that pause to be slightly unnerving?

It bothers me on the same level as when Harry repeated the "Spider-man must pay" line in SM:1

It's a combination of bad writing and bad acting

I didn't know radioactive pieces of him homeworld are deadly to him.

Excellent writing and great acting.

Maybe because in that pause she's thinking "to my son and..."

I love the way she says that line. Kate looks really great so far.

Am I the only one hoping for different color Kryptonite in the future? I would like to see Clark/Superman with red kryptonite. I think in one of the god awful scripts of the past Lex tries to ruin Superman's image.

Since the writers are always struggling with villians, why not make Superman his own worst enemy. Maybe Brainiac uses Supes as a puppet or something along those lines.

This is how Lois could discover Clark is Superman and save him so he can save everyone else.

It's probably just me...

we saw that...in supes 3....it sucked

I hate the word but yeah this is a nitpick.

some of the lines and acting did look funky though. well... it's not I hunch or You're in my very soul tormenting me bad, so I'm fine with it...

i'm assuming she's just clarifying that it's deadly to him only. since richard apparently doesn't know what kryptonite is, she's saying this to let him know that the substance only affects superman and not humans.

again, just an assumption.

i don't have a problem with the specific line by lois, but there does seem to be a high number of lines with awkward pauses from the clips we've seen. it sometimes looks a bit silly, but then again christopher walken stuffs pauses all over his sentences and it's all gravy.

SR has smart dialogues and perfect writing, so it will rock!

It's called a dramatic...pause.

sheesh...

Jesus H. Christ!

Some people just go looking for anything they can pick out as a flaw and then feel the need to express their negativity. You've not seen the movie, and they're is nothing wrong with the line or acting. Some people will never have seen a Superman film before, they might not know about Kryptonite, it needs to be explained as does his powers, that were in Metropolis and not New York, Luthor was once his foe, Lois was once his girlfriend etc. Grow up and give the film a chance for f**k sake, or at least wait until you've seen it before you bash it, which it sounds like you'll do regardless of your actual opinion of the film.

I had no problem with it and the way she rattles off his powers and then ends on his vulnerability is just perfect. She's bitter. Doesn't want to talk about him. But has to. Even the way she says "He doesn't lie..." is almost sarcastic, like she's just over it -- but we know she's not, because she shows this pause and concern as she hits the kryptonite beat.

Seriously i think this is a case of watching the movie itself. you see , you dont know the pace of the film yet. So it may seem ackward looking in from your comp. But when you sit through the movie you wont notice possibly.

I.....don't see........the problem....

Honestly, I just thought there was a touch of concern in her voice. She rattles off this list without emotion, but when she gets to something as serious as that, she's reluctant like the words are starting to sink in for her. I loved that line's execution.
