1. Batman Begins (good but overrated)
2. Superman Returns (had potential but went downhill)
3. Green Lantern (terrible)

1. Green Lantern (very fun and unembarrassedly faithful comic book movie/space opera with impressive visuals)
2. Batman Begins (some good parts and many disappointing parts)
3. Superman Returns (terrible)

Batman Begins GREAT MoVIE

GL pretty good

Superman Returns FORGETTABLE

Batman Begins 10/10 (Still my favorite comic book movie.)

Superman Returns 4/10 (I saw this in theaters, I was so bored.)

Green Lantern 7/10 (First half is really good, drops the ball in second half. Needed more Oa scenes, but oh well. Still an enjoyable film, just not what I expected.)

01. Batman Begins- 4/5
02. Superman Returns- 3/5
03. Green Lantern- 2/5

Batman Begins
Green Lantern
Superman Returns

1. Batman Begins
2. Green Lantern
3. Superman Returns

Sinestro is the only real reason GL is better than superman imo

1. Batman Begins - near great IMO and the only Batman ANYTHING I've ever liked so far.
2. Green Lantern - stupid as hell.
3. Superman Returns - boring as hell.

Batman Begins - Genius first half. Lackluster second.
Superman Returns - meh. it could be better. it could be worse
Green Lantern - Havent seen yet

I'm still not getting how everyone's agreeing that GL > SMR.

To me personally, Green Lantern is poorly directed, poorly edited, and poorly scripted. Superman Returns is well directed, well edited and poorly scripted.

I guess the reason is we have better Superman movies; we don't have any other GL movies to compare this one to.

Well to me personally, I ranked it above SR because it was largely faithful to the GL mythos. There was a decent amount of action, and I thought Ryan Reynolds played a good Hal Jordan and showed a decent range in the role.

SR on the other hand took the Superman character and bastardised him slightly - he's uncertain, he has a lovechild, he spies/stalks Lois, and he doesn't throw a single punch in the whole movie. There's no 'action' really - just feats of strength. To me, that was just bad production and direction full stop from Singer.

I could just as easily have put GL below SR. I don't bother to seriously rank films that IMO have failed. If they suck, I pretty much lump'em all in together.

1. Bats
2. GL
3. Supes

There was nothing remotely original about Superman Returns!

1. Batman Begins
2. Superman Returns
3. Green Lantern

I have a feeling it has more to do with people liking Green Lantern more as a character, rather then just picking a decent/better film. They just can't admit that Superman Returns was a better quality movie then Green Lantern's first film debut.

See, that's the problem with fanboys; when I say that Green Lantern was a terrible movie, I'm not saying Green Lantern is a lame character, or that I don't like the comics. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I just think there were so many poor choices made during the production of this film. Given the importance placed on this film over the past year or so, this might be the biggest misfire in comic book movie history. Imagine if Iron Man 1 had been a critically lambasted, commercial flop. Marvel Studios would've been DOA, and that's what's happening to DC Entertainment.

I loved all 3... But...

3. Superman Returns
2. Green Lantern
1. Batman Begins

Batman Begins

8/10

Solid comeback movie. There are so minor issues but for the most part it delivered what it needed to. Bale was a welcome casting choice and it was refreshing too see the character taken seriously and treated like the icon that he is.

Superman Returns

6.5/10

Lots of issues, some bad casting (but I feel it was overall cast better than Green Lantern), and some weak writing at times but when it works it really works. The movie has some heart and really tries to dig deeper into the character. Routh is earnest in the role but Bosworth was wrong. The problem is I think it suffers some of the same issues as Ang Lee's Hulk, another flawed but interesting attempt. The score is very good.

Green Lantern

5/10

Its really...mediocre...like WB expects us to jump on board just to wait for a good sequel. Hammond is a terrible villain and there are some plot holes bigger than the crap being constantly lifted in Superman Returns. I feel like almost everyone in the film is miscast except for maybe Strong, Rush, and Duncan. I feel like Reynolds was a worse pick for Hal than Routh was for Superman. He tries but its not even close to any take on Hal Jordan I ever read. Felt more like Van Wilder with a power ring sometimes.

Its an even bigger misfire than SR but at the opposite end of the spectrum and looses more points for just not taking the story seriously enough. And Cloudallax? C'mon. If I wanted that I'd dust off my Fantastic Four ROTSS dvd. I don't even remember the score. Sometimes the film rises to the occasion (like the scenes on Oa) but they are few and far between.

This is all just my opinion of course.

I'm tired of people saying Superman Returns was a bad movie with and bad storyline, it wasn't either, it was actually pretty good, even Empire listed it as one of their 500 best movies of all time (It doesn't really count but), the problem was, it wasn't the modern take on supes everybody wanted.
BB - 8/10
SR - 7/10
GL - 3/10

Superman Returns is my probably my third favorite comic book movie after TDK and Spiderman 2. 8/10. It's a great film.
Batman Begins. Great Film. 7.5/10
Green Lantern. I had so much fun watching it but as a movie it has a lot of problems. 6/10

I don't even have to have seen GL yet to know I will probably prefer it to SR. Mainly because I don't care so much about Green Lantern, so can enjoy the film for the fun bit of fluff it appears to be.

SR was not fun, it was a dull movie... whenever I get a moment of 'oh it's not that bad' I watch it with someone who hasn't seen it... the last person I watched it with said 'I can't believe you just made me sit through that'.

Not to mention the amount of problems I have with it as a fan of Superman, and not a fan of the Donnerverse.

BB on the other hand, is a great movie. Yeah it drags a bit by the end, but it did so much right in terms of how it re established the character for a modern audience and totally seperated itself from the previous films.

Batman Begins 8/10
Superman Returns 7/10
Green Lantern 3/10

I don't care if those films are bad or not but damn those 3 films should have been the lead in for Justice League.

1st - BB

2nd - GL

3rd - SMR

How do people rate SMR above GL is a better statement, the movie is about real estate agent.
