Rank every Marvel Movie Villain from best to worst.

Iron Monger. Justin Hammer. Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo. Mandarin. Aldrich Killian. Coldblood. Ellen Brandt. Firepower
Red Skull. Arnim Zola. Winter Soldier. Alexander Pierce. Batroc the leaper. Brock Rumlow (crossbones). Baron Strucker. Loki. The Destroyer. Laufey. Malekith. Kurse. Abomination. Samuel Sterns (The Leader). The Other. Chitauri. Thanos. Ronan the Accuser. Korath the Pursuer. Nebula.

Thats every villain I can think of that has appeared, obviously some are nothing like their comic book counterpart except in name like coldblood who isn't even called coldblood in im3 and such and Samuel Sterns wasn't a villain but we all know he will be or at least is in the comics, and we haven't actually seen much of Von Strucker or Thanos, but they've all appeared in the MCU. To many villains to put in order of favourites, but out of them all, I want more Red Skull.

I'm only doing MCU because it's just too exhausting to list everyone else, but something must be said for Magneto, both McKellen's and Fassbender's. Anyway...

MCU Villains

1. Loki
2. Alexander Pierce
3. Red Skull
4. Blonsky/Abomination
5. Ronan the Accuser
6. Stane/Iron Monger
7. Winter Soldier (Not really a true villain, but he's too cool not to include)
8. Thanos (I would put him higher, but he hasn't done much yet besides looking and sounding cool)
9. The Destroyer
10. Justin Hammer
11. Savin
12. Aldrich Killian
13. Vanko/Whiplash
14. Kurse
15. Rumlow/Crossbones
16. Nebula
17. Arnim Zola
18. Laufey
19. Malekith
20. The Chitauri (Hive-minded cannon fodder)
21. The Other
22. Korath
23. Batroc
24. Ellen Brandt
25. Baron Von Strucker (Much like Thanos, he might move up higher on the list later since he's on here based on one short scene)
26. "Mandarin"/Trevor Slattery (Again, not really a villain but at least the Ten Rings videos before the "big reveal" were creepy)

I wouldn't be surprised if Ultron jumps right to the top after May 1st.

I'm only including those who have contributed heavily to a plot so far in a villain role, so no Thanos or Leader yet. I haven't seen Guardians either, so I have to hold off on them.

1. Red Skull
2. Loki
3. Obadiah Stane
4. Winter Soldier
5. Crimson Dynamo or whatever BS name they gave him
6. Justin Hammer
7. Arnim Zola
8. Abomination
9. General Ross
10. Crossbones
11. Kurse
12. Malekith
13. Batroc the Leaper
14. Laufey
15. Alexander Pierce (hate made up characters)
16. Aldrich Killian (completely lacking as a lead villain)
17. Coldblood (completely pointless character nothing like the comics)
18. Chitauri (what a joke, no threat whatsoever to the heroes)
19. Trevor Slattery (hate made up characters)

Don't think I forgot anyone. I don't really consider the Destroyer a villain since it serves Odin.

What is the point of the one called The Other that everybody mentions? Who is he supposed to be? Just another chump the studio made up?

Alexander Pierce isn't a made up character.

Ehhhh he pretty much is. Taking a good guy and making him a bad guy is pretty much making the character up to be whatever you want.

To me, he's not much different than Aldrich Killian. Killian shows up in the comics long enough to eat a bullet. Iron Man 3 would have been worlds better if they stuck to that.

I won't rank them all but in terms of Marvel without just one studio I have enjoyed

Magneto, Loki, Winter Soldier, Alexander Pierce, Dr. Octopus, William Stryker, Red Skull and Bolivar Trask with his Sentinels the most.

the villains aren't the MCU's strong point

True, but let's face it, the main heroes of the MCU don't have that impressive of a rogues gallery when you compare them to other superheroes like Spider-Man. At least in the comics.

But that seems to be changing, especially with Ultron and Thanos coming up. The only villain who has stole the show in any of them is Loki. In the case of "Thor: The Dark World", he stole the movie and he wasn't even supposed to be the villain in that.

I haven't seen GOTG yet, so I can't comment on Ronan/Nebula. Ultron and Thanos seem to be candidates for good MCU villains like Loki. In terms of FOX, Apocalypse will probably rival Magneto in terms of villains. Still crazy to think we are getting Ultron, Thanos and Apocalypse in the next few years.

What this guy said. Spider-Man and X-Men have by far the best villains in comics period, so the Avengers don't have a ton to work with. Even the Fantastic Four have better villains with Dr. Doom and Galactus.

With that said, Red Skull, Loki, Ultron, Thanos and The Mandarin are all cool threats in the comics. The Mandarin should have been right up there with the best of them in this universe before Marvel wadded his character up and threw it in the trash.

Hopefully we'll get Baron Zemo, Surtur, The Leader, Dormammu, Mephisto and Kang in this universe at some point. Beyond that, there really isn't much else to do.

Loki
Arnim Zola
The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes)
Nebula
Alexander Pierce
Emil Blonsky (Abomination)
Obidiah Stane (Iron Monger)
Red Skull
Rumlow (Crossbones)
Ronan the Pursuer
Ivan Vanko (Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo)
Laufey the Frost Giant
Justin Hammer
Bartroc the Leaper
Malaketh

I'm skipping Thanos and Baron Von Strucker because they haven't really had their moment to shine yet. I'm skipping Ultron because he hasn't appeared at all. I'm also skipping Mandarin because I'm not diving into that issue (although I will say that movie trailer Mandarin might be among the top villains. Even if movie Mandarin were revealed to be real, he wouldn't be trailer Mandarin).

Overall, Loki is the only great one. We've had a couple good ones or ones that at least managed to be cool on screen. But villains have been fairly secondary and mostly for driving the plot, overall.

I agree, beyond these you just mentioned there aren't really any other cool major threats, but there is still cool villains to use that are not as threatening, Enchantress, Wrecking Crew, or Absorbing Man for example

You said it, brother.

Enchantress and Executioner should have been the villains in Thor 2 (2 threats) and Loki could have teamed up with Thor to counter Enchantress while Thor tore the house down with Executioner. I think Malekith and Kurse was a wasted duo.

We don't need to see Thor crushing a random rock monster. Let's see him beat up on the Wrecking Crew at the beginning of a film.

Malekith could have been a good villain. They left out character development and a clear motive though.

I laughed harder than I should have at #43

The only villains who really stood out in the MCU are Loki, Mandarin (Killian), Crossbones, Iron Monger, General Ross and Alexander Pierce.

If Winter Soldier counts, then he also belongs here.

And Justin Hammer, Ronan and Abomination are entertaining. They aren't complex characters but they're fun to watch.

It sucks that villains who are awesome in the comics like Malekith and Ronan and then kill them off before they can get any character development. Then there are the villains who still have potential since they've been introduced but haven't reached it yet like Leader, Batroc and Red Skull. I even feel like Crossbones and General Ross still have room to grow but for whatever reason, they haven't been given a second go.

Marvel seems to like making their villains plot devices for the hero to overcome instead of actual characters. Even the better ones have this problem. Thankfully, going forward, Ultron will be awesome and the Captain America sequel will give us a more fleshed out Batroc and Crossbones (and hopefully also introducing Zemo, Songbird and Taskmaster), the Hulk sequel will give us the Leader and/or Red Hulk that we deserve, the Thor sequel will introduce Enchantress while Guardians will bring in in Magus and we'll get some new properties in Phase 3 that will introduce cool new villains like Kingpin, Chemistro, Dormammu, Yon-Rogg, Klaw, Bullseye, Steel Serpent and Killmonger.

The best villains are the ones whose conflict with the hero operates on a personal level instead of just as an obstacle. The second best villains are the ones with a redemption arc but Marvel REALLY dropped the ball with Ronan.

I wouldn't count the Destroyer as a villain since it's mindless and basically just a weapon.

I'd say the only MCU villain that I've been unhappy with how they did him was Malekith. I know nothing about him but he has got to be better in the comics than what we got on screen.

Yeah that would work, introduce a smaller threat at the start of the movie, when I first heard Batroc was in TWS I was shocked, but what they did with him was great, you can do that with any Marvel movie.
As for Agents of Shield, I don't watch it either, I got to like episode 4 and realised I was forcing myself to watch and try to like it, so disappointed because I had high hopes for that show, like you said, it had great potential to introduce smaller villains but just seems to make its own stuff up. I also agree that Malekith and Kurse were a wasted duo, but then again, I also think Thor 2 was a wasted movie.
