In honor of MessiahDecoy123's thread about the best superhero films from each studio, I figured we might as well do the worst as well.

In this case, I'm going in reverse order, so the worst film will be ranked #1 then second then third.

Fox:
1. Fant4stic
2. Elektra
3. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (I thought about it and upon reflection, this was worse than the original)

Marvel:
1. The Avengers: Age of Ultron
2. The Incredible Hulk
3. Iron Man 2

WB:
1. Catwoman (Can't believe I forgot about this one)
2. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
3. Supergirl

Sony:
1. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
2. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
3. Ghost Rider

I think here is where we see the effectiveness of Marvel's approach, as none of their films (to me) are anywhere close to being as bad as the others listed here. Heck, DC's list is so bad I couldn't even find room for Batman & Robin on it.

I'll do the same (a couple aren't strictly superhero films, but they're CBMs - and they were bad);

Fox:
1. Origins: Wolverine
2. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
3. Elektra

Not seen the latest Fantastic 4 movie.

Marvel:
1. The Incredible Hulk
2. Thor
3. Iron Man 3

Not seen Thor: TDW

WB:
1. Batman & Robin
2. Catwoman
3. Jonah Hex

Sony:
1. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
2. Ghost Rider

Can't come up with a third for Sony - but I've not seen either of the Garfield Spider-Mans.

Out of those, that I watched... The worst ever is ranked #1.

Fox:
1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
2. Daredevil
3. X-Men: Apocalypse

Marvel:
1. The Incredible Hulk
2. Thor: The Dark World
3. Thor

WB:
1. Catwoman
2. Jonah Hex
3. Green Lantern

Sony:
1. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
2. Men in Black III
3. Men in Black II

WB proves to be the most contrast studio.

20th: Elēktrā, Origins Wolverine, Fantastic Four 2005
Walt: Thor 2, Avengers 2, Iron Man 2
Columbia: Ghost Rider duology, Amazing 2
Warner: Catwoman, Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad

I didn't include 20th century films.

Fox.
Origins
Fant4stic
Electra

Sony.
GR2
GR
TASM2

WB.
Catwoman
BvS
Skwad

Marvel.
Incredible Hulk
Thor2
Iron man 3

Fox
Elektra
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
X-Men: The Last Stand

Sony
Ghost Rider (I assume GR2 is just as bad or worse, but luckily I've never seen it)
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The Amazing Spider-Man

Warner Bros.
Batman & Robin
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Superman III
(Admittedly I've never seen Supergirl or Catwoman)

Marvel Studios
Avengers: Age of Ultron (I really think this is one of the most soulless studio products in the last decade, other than Whedon's farm detour and the party scene)
Iron Man 2
Thor: The Dark World

You are quite right. But actually, I think it's telling that, at least for me, none of their films are as bad as the other studios' worst efforts... but none of them are good as the other studios' best efforts. Marvel is straight down the middle. I think my frustration comes from them never seeming to swing for the fences. Then again, they do not have constant strikeouts like Sony does (other than the first two Raimi Spidey movies) and WB more often than not experiences. It really is a give and take.

Fox

The only saving grace was Ciaran Hinds - and (to use a cliché) he was wasted. It is one of the most God-awful films I've ever seen. It made the first one seem like The Dark Knight :csad:

Same here, neither my best nor worst superhero movies are MCU.

Keep in mind, there are some I just haven't seen (such as Elektra, Catwoman, Fantastic Four 2016) and some that I am cutting slack as being products of their time (i.e. Supergirl, Superman 3 and 4, Howard the Duck, etc) so this list may be excluding some of the obvious ones.

Fox:

1) Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer (they are both so bad, they share the top spot for me)
2) X-Men Apocalypse
3) X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Disney/Marvel Studios:

1) Thor: Dark World
2) Punisher Warzone
3) Age of Ultron

Sony:

1) TASM2
2) Ghost Rider 2
3) Ghost Rider

Warners (only three?):

1) BvS
2) Green Lantern
3) Man of Steel/Batman Forever (tied)

I can't bring myself to put Batman and Robin on this list. I have actually grown a fondness for it in recent years. When watched as a parody of the old '60s Batman, it is hilarious. Hell, even without that context, it is just funny in a so bad its good kind of way. As such, it has somehow wormed its way into a special place in my heart.

Age of Ultron

WB
Batman vs Superman
Suicide Squad

Sony
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The Amazing Spider-Man
Ghost Rider 2

Fox
Elektra: I have nothing else to add, this one did not bring me any kind of joy.

Marvel
Thor the Dark World: Same as above. You'll notice I'm more lenient toward CBMs than most of you.

WB
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Extended Cuts

Sony
Ghost Rider 2
Ghost Rider
Men in Black II

Disney/Marvel Studios:

2) Punisher Warzone
This one wasn't under Disney's or MCU's wing.

This one wasn't under Disney's or MCU's wing.

It was Marvel Studios' first movie (when they were operating under the name Marvel Knights Studios). Marvel Studios would ultimately be bought by Disney. But it was the first movie that Marvel made. Marvel is the studio that produces these films for Disney. Disney would own it today (as they acquired all assets of Marvel Studios). I'd say its fair game.

It feels very detached.

It feels very detached.

Well the question isn't "what movie of _____ franchise is the worst." Its what is the worst from each studio. Fantastic Four and X-Men are detached but they both make Fox's list. Ghost Rider has nothing to do with the Spider-Man franchise but TASM and Ghost Rider both fall under Sony's banner. Just because Warzone wasn't part of the MCU doesn't mean it wasn't produced by Marvel Studios. By the logic you are asserting, the four people who listed The Incredible Hulk did so erroneously as Disney did not buy Marvel until 2009. Well over a year after the release of TIH.

Fox
Daredevil
Fant4stic
Xmen Origins Wolverine

Marvel
Iron Man 3
Avengers Age of Ultron
Thor Dark World

Warners
Superman IV

Thor The Dark World

Ghost Rider SOV
Ghost Rider
The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Fant4stic
Elektra
X-Men Origins Wolverine

Catwoman
Batman v Superman
Suicide Squad

This is way easier than the top 3 best list. Marvel's worst are still average imo.

Correct e if I am wrong, but WB didn't actually produce Superman IV, right? I know they played a role in distribution, but I believe that is a Cannon Films movie. But I could be wrong.

If it and Supergirl don't count, just add Jonah Hex to my list.

In the order listed, I guess.

Fox:
1) Elektra
2) Fant4stic
3) X-Men: The Last Stand

Marvel:
1 & 2) Thor & Thor: The Dark World (hard to say which is worse)
3) Iron Man 2

WB:
1) Batman & Robin
2) Catwoman
3) BvS: Dawn of Justice
Never saw Steel, Supergirl, or Superman IV. Can't comment on those.

Sony:
1 & 2) Ghost Rider 1 & 2 (again, can't tell which is worse).
3) Spider-Man 3

You're actually correct. I then replace it with BVS.
