While you might not be necessarily wrong about Ray Porter possibly serving as a prototype casting for Darkseid, it is at least clear that he'll have more screentime and dialogue in Snyder's JL than Poitier had in Avengers, so we'll have a more discernable performance in comparison.

I mean... clearly Ray Porter is a Damion Poitier situation right? They would have gotten a name actor for sure to play him if they moved ahead with a sequel.

Not necessarily. Ray Porter is an actor but he's also narrated over 300 audiobooks and is capable of a wide range of voices. A much wider range than the average big name movie actor. He's one of the most well known voice actors in the audiobook business, and Snyder wouldnt have hired a voice actor of Ray's skill if he didnt intend to keep him in the role.

Besides the film has 5 A list named actors in the lead roles. It doesnt really need some huge named actor in the Darkseid role.

Ray Porter confirmed on a podcast that he was on set with Hinds in the mo-cap and and joked how it wasn't flattering with the two of them in them.
