Despite the loss, Wilson and the Seahawks should be pretty proud of themselves... And should be a real force next year.

Wow, apparently, Jon Gruden was very interested in coaching the Panthers. Oh mama, did we dodge a bullet there. Now we have to pray that Rivera wins 10 games next season or we could have Gruden or Kelly as major candidates in 2014.

*shudders*

Both the Flacons & Patriots gave up 28 points today and won...

The Niners gave up 31... though their Defense only gave up 24...

And the Ravens gave up 35...

Weird that the team hat traditionally had the best D gave up the most points. But then 14 of them were kickoff returns (IIRC), and they did get the INT to set up the OT win.

Great wknd. Bring on the semis!

I'm definitely a fan of Wilson now. They did play great.

Best rookie season ever altogether, and you can throw in Kaepernick as well.

Patriots: 14-3 playoff record at home. Best record in postseason history.
Patriots: Advance to AFC Championship for the 7th time under Bill Belichick.

I love football.

Bumped...

If anyone happens to know. :O
Why do NFL coaches call those last second timeouts just before a play in the end of close games? I never understood that strategy.

its funny because a lot of kickers say they like it when the other coach calls time out... 1. it waste one of their time outs...and 2. they get to go have another few practice kicks. 3. most of the time the kicker takes the kick on the field regardless, which in turn gives them the advantage.

kind of like today... Matt Bryant MISSED the first field goal, but bc carroll called timed out, he got another shot and hit it right down the middle.lol

Freezing the kicker only works on fragile-minded kickers.

Dumb move by Pete. :lmao:

id be sitting here crying right now had he not called that time out...so... Pete Carroll = Biggest Falcon fan ever?

Oh Ok, thanks. Yeah, I agree. It seemed like a dumb move by Seattle but a smart one by ATL to actually get their practice kick in. He missed the first one and now he knew where to hit it on the money.

Still seems like a weird strategy

it may work in college...but these are pros... and matt bryant is one of the most clutch kickers out there. so yea it was ignorant lol

Wasn't it only like 2nd down or something? He still would have had another shot if he had missed.

You know, at the same time. I still don't get it. Is it supposed to be some kind of psychological thing? What difference does it make if he calls a timeout or not? He's gonna kick the field goal anyways, and if you "freeze" him and called the timeout and he misses, he gets another chance at it.

What's the payoff of stalling like that?

I believe the point is to call it right before the snap.

Yeah, it's a mental game. The idea is to give the kicker more time to think about the kick and start over thinking.

I've seen it work one time in maybe 4 or 5 years.

More than anyone, the Pats are glad that the Giants are nowhere in the playoff picture this year, :D

what? I thought after a field goal attempt, the other team gets possession?

-_- you and I disagree on this. Don't you want him always yelling from the sidelines ':cmad: THIS GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUY'.

:palps: = Bill from New England and Mr. Gruden

I'll believe it when I see it. They might be forced to do it since Fidel Goodell has said they need to update the stadium if they want to host another Super Bowl.

They want the Superbowl in 2015. So its happening
