I like Levy she has that likeable factor. If the script is good enough, they can separate her Mary Jane from Emma's Gwen. So I'm not worried of them being too similar if she is chosen for the role.

    No to Emma Watson.No.

Watson is way too young looking compared to current cast.

I see Levy as MJ. Still unfortunate Shailene though

Unless somebody can find me some pics where she doesn't look like a 'supermodel-type', I cannot honestly see Webb going with Levy if he's still director. Ronan and Watson are more along the lines of the types of beautiful actresses I see Webb going after; they don't feel like a significant step away from Woodley beauty-wise.

Roden's got the same type of beauty profile as Woodley, but I'm not seeing her as an MJ based on the pics I found of her. That doesn't mean she couldn't work; it just means I need to find different pics of her.

Levy seems like the most obvious choice right now, and I do think she'd be a great one.

However, I'd honestly never heard Leighton Meester suggested for this role before, which is funny since we've had years of MJ casting threads, and while I'm sure she's been brought up, I'd personally never seen her name. And here she is as literally one of the first suggestions in the "replacement" thread and I've gotta say, I kinda like it. From what I've seen, she was easily the most talented actor on Gossip Girl, deserving of a much bigger career than she currently has, and has a great balance of attitude and charisma.

I would prefer Levy overall, though.

Found some pics of Levy where she doesn't look so supermodel-y, and I'm starting to warm to the idea of her as MJ.

If they are worried about age, given that Garfield will be well over 30 in the next two, I say MEW. She looks perfect for the role and can pass for a college student in sequels more than high school.

However, I think the series loses points because if MJ and Gwen are never in the same story, it just makes the whole thing feel more arbitrary.

Oh geez, not again. Look, I love MEW after seeing Smashed, but that doesn't change my opinion that she's just not right for MJ at all. I would have loved to see her as Sharon Carter or maybe even as Wasp, but to me she doesn't have the right energy for MJ in the slightest.

It's like those people who wanted Zooey Deschanel for Lois Lane. I just...don't get it.

Hahaha it's a revival Flickchick :oldrazz:

    But yeah, no MEW.

But I also do not like Leighton Meester for the role at all. I like her, she's just no MJ for me.

Honestly, this whole thread is like an unwanted revival for me. I was soooo happy when Shailene was cast, partially because I was fairly happy with the choice, but mostly because I was happy this was all over, lol.

To each their own on Meester. I'm almost bummed that so many agree on Levy, because the one the majority agree on almost never gets cast.

True, but then again, most the time someone who wasn't suggested or who was hiding in the mass of posts gets cast and it's amazing.
Can't say I've seen a bad fan suggestion actually get cast. :awesome:

I'll first say that I'm kind of bummed that Shailene might not be MJ after all, as I was really excited to see her in the role, though I must admit I did have some reservations about her being the right fit.

Emma Watson would be a homerun. She's suitably attractive, but much more than that, I think she has the lovability that the part requires for audiences to approve of her ultimately taking Gwen's place in Peter's heart.

I would've liked MEW as MJ before, but...it seems to me that she's sticking to the indie route for a while and now that she's gonna be in a show, if it gets picked up, I doubt she'll have time to star in a blockbuster.

    4. Karen Gillian

What are the chances of them finding 'MJ' whose mere presence in the same room with Andrew would make Emma nervous. Like really, really nervous. :p

And Jane Levy looks like Emma's little sister. :\

Anyways, Elena Satine would be my choice:

Evan Rachel Wood. Good actress who was actually cast as MJ in the musical at one point.
