Bale is the Bat, so that wouldn't work. Tom Jane or bust. I don't know why people say Stallone 10 years ago would have been great. It would have turned into a buddy pic like Judge Dredd turned into.

I actually think stallone could have pulled it off, and possibly still could if they went with a much older version of castle. If you've ever seen First Blood (the first Rambo movie) it reminds me of Castle, especially regarding his mental state.

Possibly the most stubborn and naive comment someone could make. I'd like to state that I was a big fan of Janes performance. People need to realise that visually at least Jane didn't really resemble Frank Castle, so until we saw his performance we were in the dark, than suddenly fans realised he gave a good performance as Castle and now they don't want anyone else.

Do people believe that not one actor has the ability to pull of an equal or perhaps superior performance to Jane? Yet many are hoping to just destroy any future Punisher movies, simply because Jane won't be back? I thought Jane was a great Punisher and it's going to be difficult to top what he brought to the role the first time around, but to disregard any future movies because he won't be starring sounds frankly moronic.

Can't say I've seen Purefoy in anything to make me think he would be a good Punisher, he just resembles Jane slightly. If they want to make a smooth transition than he would be an alright choice, but Jane didn't look much like Frank either, so it depends on what you want from your Punisher.

Tough one, how do you cast for someone who's face is going to be unrecognisable for the majority of the movie? Well you need someone who is originally good-looking. He seems like the go to guy at the moment, but Gerard Butler wouldn't be a bad choice. Julian Mcmahon is also someone I could see playing Jigsaw.

I'm not feeling Jesse Bradford, but Ryan Phillipe is a name I would consider, I was very much for him for Two Face in TDK.

We need to consider firstly does he look the part of a mafia hitman and can he play a deranged killer, and is he goodlooking enough for the audience to generally believe the pain of tarnishing that vanity.

Looks wise McMahon is my choice
