I want a re-cut of BB.:o

Now we all want BB to be the definitive Batman movie, right?

Well how can it be when Batman 'lets' Ra's Al Ghul die?
I mean, the current Batman in the comics does not kill. But he also would not allow someone, ANYONE to die he he could help them. That just isn't Batman!

I hope WB and Nolan re-lease a COMIC-ACURATE cut of BB to coincide with TDK where Ra's still dies, but Batman doesn't just leave him.

If a line is cut, and a coule of frames, you could easily make it appear that Batman escaped with his life mere seconds before the train blew up, leaving no time for him to save Ra's, much less tell him he won't save him.:whatever:
Just a sad end to a great film.
That, and remve the silly, 'Its gonna blow!' lines every 2 minutes at the end.

Batman's aware from the beginning that Gordon's going to blow the tracks, so any cuts on the train won't matter. Terrible moment but I don't think a fan cut could easily fix it, and anything else isn't worth pondering over.

I don't think it was a terrible moment at all. One of my favorite moments of the film, actually.

First of all, you're assuming that Batman could have saved Ra's even if he wanted to. Were we ever shown that Batman would be able to glide while carrying a person? I don't remember anything like that. If anything, it seemed like he would've had to use his hands in order to steer the cape to where he wants it to go, so he couldn't do that and hold onto Ra's at the same time. And grappling a building from a speeding train is obviously out of the question, so if you have an idea as to how he could have escaped and saved Ra's, I'd sure like to hear it. Besides, there was no jail in Gotham that could hold Ra's al Ghul. Like Ra's told Bruce back at the mansion, his goons had infiltrated every area of Gotham's infrastructure, and Ra's would have been released to wreak havoc another day. With him gone, I'm sure they either fled or were brought to justice.

We were also never shown that Ra's is indeed dead. It was very ambiguous, and the Lazarus pits and his immortality are mentioned on the special features of the Begins DVD. The Ra's of the comics is known for surviving situations like that, so I wouldn't be surprised if he survived. Though I doubt we'll be seeing him in another movie, but who knows.

Also, if they were going to release a "comic accurate" version of BB, they'd have to completely remake the movie so that Ra's is an eco-terrorist as opposed to a terrorist obsessed with wiping out crime. It didn't bother me that they changed that aspect of his character, since they were still able to stay true to his actions and who he is, just changed his motivation. Nonetheless, that's how he is in the comics, so it'd be silly to think that cutting a few seconds from the ending would somehow make the movie completely comic accurate.

Why ponder over whether the cape or grappling hook could save Ra's? If they wanted to show Bruce preserves life no matter what they would have just written the scene differently. You're implying they went with this ending simply because they couldn't write themselves out of the problem.

That's only a consolation to the audience, Ra's possible immortality doesn't factor into Bruce's decision to let him die

It's a silly topic anyway, it'll never be the definitive or "comic accurate" film for everyone and why should it be? But the issue is Bruce not Ra's

No re-cut can save BB from being a good solid film but one with no enjoyability IMO.
