Re-order, Re-invinvent, and Re-charge Marvel Villains!

I was just chatting with a friend.. and realised theres alot of Lame villains, and many of those lame villains have potential... also many classic heroes have have a pretty lame rogues gallery... (daredevil and Black panther for instance) and theres several heroes who really dont have there own rogues gallery, just share from others. so i propose a switchem up.. give some villains to other heroes... and re-vamp others... or bring others back from limbo!

So far i would propose these...


Spidey's got a bunch of lame ass female villains, all of which are copies of there male counterparts... (aside from a very few, shathra and shriek for instance)

-really.. he's got... scorpia, carolyn trainer, quicksand, and calypso...

there really never used anymore.. so i suggest giving them away...

Calypso imo could be a pretty bad ass Black panther villain if done right...

and the rest of spidey's femm fatales i think should be given to black cat


I'd also love to see som plant villain.. i think poison ivy kicks ass... but wouldnt wanna rip her off completely... i mean ya theres a Plant man in the marvel universe.. but he's lame, female works better in that way anyways.

so any suggestions?

Not particularly but I do agree Marvel villains need to amp themselves up. Looking at both WWH and CW Marvel is mainly banking on Hero VS Hero events which might not be a good thing. When the Sinestro War goes into full swing, more readers wil be interested in a clear cut Good Vs. Evil fight like in Annihilation where Annhilus rocked HARD as the main villain, playing EVERYONE involved.

I'd like to see the Wrecking Crew as more of a menacing force. Losing to the Runaways has made them a joke, Wrecker in particular had his character screwed with by Bendis. The Crew can be funny but they shouldn't be treated as jokes, these guys assaulted the Avengers and almost won.

Wrecker's outfit was generally ok. Maybe the purple mask needs some work but I truly see Wrecker as a legitimate ass-kicker. So's the Absorbing Man who's been absent for some time now.

Seriously??? Whoa. Okay....Actually I think Marvel does have a plant-girl character called Mantis who recently resurfaced in Star-Lord. I think she's always been a Heroine, though I seem to recall seeing her at Kang's side back in the Heroes Reborn Universe. Unlike Pamela Isley who's all sexy and sultry, Mantis is very spiritual and Zen-ish. Or so I remember.

Okay...why? Also on my villains to improve/see more of are:

1) Kang, the Original
2) Doom, seemingly silent for awhiles now
3) Sinister, though Messiah Complex may change all that
4) Batroc the Leaper, lame name, lame concept but not entirely without promise
5) MAELSTROM! WTF was with the GLA beating him???
6) Graviton
7) Tyrant, cause we're sorely lacking in galactic threats these days

I mean the whole Kang = Iron Lad thing pisses me off. For a guy who has seen the past several times over I don't think Kang would have been stupid enough to pull out a stunt like coax his younger self inot becoming a superhero unless it was part of a bigger plot which Heinberg has yet to write.

I love Iron Lad, but yes...Kang the bad ass needs to come back.

To me, Iron Lad's a huge plothole waiting to be exploited. As is much of Kang's background but considering the number of guises Kang has, I think Iron Lad is redundant....Or so I think. Maybe its because he was barely around. Who knows. But Kang needs to make a bigger impact.

Also, oversexing villains kinda sucks. Like "Ultron" who's now a chick thanks to Bendis banking on Frank Cho's talent of drawing hot women. Villains should be vile, sometimes understandable but otherwise VILE!

I seriously doubt the sales chart will bear out your "more readers" claim.
SW will not outsell CW.

Bendis had wrecker take on several of the new avengers roster by himself. That is hardly making him a joke.

He kinda is. In "the last stand" norman explained how he's been pulling strings for years to "regulate" crime and superhuman activity from behind the shadows. He put the owl into power apparently now.

They need to update Iron Man's rogues gallery. A lot of them have plenty of potential, but they're soooo dated.

for example, the way they updated Whirlwind, Earthmover, Blizzard and Firebrand aka the Elementals in the DVD movie is the way they should do them in the comics or something similar.

Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo have the same costumes from the 60s, they should be updated.

I kind of thought Iron Lad was their way to make Kang young again; you have to remember, the Kang that got poked with a Sword is over 75, though he looks to between 45-55 depending on the artist.

I've said it before, but they really need to make Apocalypse a badass again. The Blood of Apocalypse seemed like it had potential, but it ended with a whimper. The guy is powerful enough to be a major global threat. Try writing him like that, for once.

I agree, he seems to be the 'King' if you will of the more street level, rogue type villians.

Cardiac, Count Nefaria, Moses Magnum, Jigsaw, Mr.Tune, Fusion, Tombstone, and yes the Kangaroo.


I think all these guys got major untapped potential.

I think all these guys got major untapped potential.

Jigsaw is definitely worth tapping into, seeing that he's basically the only member of the Punisher's rogue gallery that manages to keep living. Any villain that crosses paths with Castle and can be seen again and again definitely gets my respect.
