Rebecca Ferguson takes the lead role in sci-fi film Life

Variety is reporting that Skydance is lining up the red-hot Rebecca Ferguson to take the lead in their science fiction film Life. Ferguson came on a lot of people’s radar last year co-starring with Tom Cruise in Skydance’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and has since landed major roles opposite Michael Fassbender in The Snowman and Emily Blunt in The Girl on the Train.

The sci-fi feature Life will follow a crew aboard the International Space Station who, after retrieving a sample from Mars, discover that it displays signs of life. Said life, of course, proves to be more intelligent and cunning than expected.
The original screenplay comes from the pen of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese of Zombieland, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Deadpool fame. Daniel Espinosa, the Swedish filmmaker who made a splash with Easy Money and Safe House before crashing and burning with the flop Child 44, will hopefully rebound as director of Life, with David Ellison and Dana Goldberg producing alongside Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn

I like her. Her face is stunning, yet cute. She's like in that 20-something limbo.

Yay for more orignal-ish sci-fi movies. And if it's being produced at Skydance, it will probably end up at Paramount.

A Space slasher sounds neat if made well.

I'll watch her in anything.....or nothing! :sly:

Ryan Reynolds Orbiting Mars Mission Thriller ‘Life’ For Skydance Productions http://deadline.com/2016/02/deadpool-ryan-reynolds-life-skydance-productions-mars-mission-rebecca-ferguson-1201702952/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter …

What’s next for Ryan Reynolds after the record setting Deadpool opening? Reynolds is in talks to star with Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation‘s Rebecca Ferguson in Life, a Skydance Productions film that Daniel Espinosa will direct from a script by Reynolds’ Deadpool scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

Good to hear. Ryan Reynolds deserves this!

Jake Gyllenhaal replacing Ryan Reynolds as star of Skydance movie LIFE, Ryan moving to supporting role http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/jake-gyllenhaal-replacing-ryan-reynolds-874344 …

Jake Gyllenhaal will star in Life, Skydance’s sci-fi project that is being directed by Daniel Espinosa.

Ryan Reynolds was to have starred in the pic opposite Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation breakout Rebecca Ferguson, but the Deadpool star has a conflict with his newest movie, the action thriller Hitman’s Bodyguard.

Instead, Reynolds will take a supporting role. But insiders say the roll call of the movie is ensemble in nature.
The movie centers on the crew of a space station that discovers a lifeform on Mars. But the entity proves to be not only intelligent but also dangerous.
Gyllenhaal has the Tom Ford drama Nocturnal Animals, in which he stars opposite Amy Adams, opening this fall. He will also shoot Lionsgate’s Boston Marathon bombing drama Stronger, which he is also producing.

Upgrade!

And Reynolds gets to stick around too, so everybody wins.

Olga Dykhovichnaya and Ariyon Bakare have joined the cast of the sci-fi thriller "Life" at Sony Pictures and Skydance Productions.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson and Hiroyuki Sanada star as members of the crew of the International Space Station who are tasked with studying a sample from Mars that may be the first proof of extraterrestrial life.
That life proves more intelligent than ever expected. Daniel Espinosa is directing from a script by "Deadpool" scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn are producing and shooting kicked off Tuesday at London's Shepperton Studios ahead of a March 2017 release.

Hiroyuki Sanada didn't last too long in Sunshine which was the last science fiction slasher movie he was in.

Is this a remake of the Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence movie?

Ferguson doesn't want to rescue the guy because of quarantine rules? Hm, what does that remind me of?

Wait!

It's just on the tip of my tongue.

What was it? Crap!

Meh. I didn't see anything I haven't seen before. In either trailer.

Personally, I think this movie looks awesome.

You gotta love how they made it seem like Jake and Ryan are the leads. :hehe:
